  • Live Commentary

    Time:90'
    • Celtic
    • St Johnstone
    • 90' Ref blows for full-time and Celtic make it two from two this season with comfortable 5-2 victory over the Saints. Mowbray will be pleased with the ease of the win but will likely have words with his defenders about the lapses that let in St Johnstone for two goals. But a good afternoon for the Bhoys. Thanks for joining us.
    • 87' Saints' Sheerin on for Millar as game reaches last few minutes.
    • 86' Killen skips one tackle but is brought down by Gartland, who receives a booking from referee Collum. First yellow of the afternoon.
    • 84' McGeady to Hinkel, who feeds McDonald and the forward hits the post. Referee signals offside but it would have been a tight call had McDonald's effort gone in.
    • 76' GOAL!! Morris has pulled another one back for the Saints. 5-2.
    • 74' GOAL!!!! McGeady feeds Maloney after some lovely one-touch football and McCaffrey concedes corner. Quick penalty by Maloney and Fox and lovely ball to MacDonald who makes it 5-1.
    • 71' Two-goal hero Fortune off for Killen.
    • 69' Boruc punches ball into six-yard box clear. Saints trying to salvage something from this game - pride at least - but really not stetching Celtic seriously.
    • 67' Rare chance for Saints after slack defending by Celtic but Samuel's header is well saved by Boruc.
    • 60' An hour gone at Parkhead and good chance of more goals in this game.
    • 58' Another great chance for Fortune who sees a hat-trick go begging!!! The Frenchman nails the two hard ones but then manages to make a mess of the best chance of the afternoon. Let off for the Saints! Should be 5-1.
    • 54' GOAL Celtic!!!!! Game over, Fortune gets his second and suddenly its 4-1. Only 10 minutes gone in second half and Saints have conceded another two goals!
    • 53' GOAL Celtic! Maloney cuts inside from left and scores a cracking individual goal. Celtic lead 3-1 and Maloney on a hat-trick.
    • 51' Set piece for Saints fails to trouble Celtic but while they are only a goal ahead the home side are going to have to take care in such positions!!
    • 46' Celtic waste little time going on the attack and McGeady almost adds another only for McCaffrey to clear ball for corner.
    • 46' Both teams back on the park, no substitutions yet as the game gets restarted.
    • 45' No added time to the first half at Parkhead as ref blows for half-time. All Celtic for most of the 45 minutes and their 2-0 lead through Fortune and Hinkel much deserved. But a howler from Caldwell, who tried to head the ball instead of bringing it down, handed Samuel a chance and the Trinidadian took it superbly. Celtic lead 2-1.
    • 44' Donati cuts back inside and the goal opens up for him but the Italian skies his shot.
    • 44' McGeady again causing havoc before feeding Maloney, whose shot comes back off the post. Linesman signals for offside so it wouldn't have stood.
    • 42' McGeady and Hinkel combine well and create danger in Saints defence with cross to far post.
    • 41' St Johnstone back in it now, despite being played off the park for most of the half they now find themselves just a goal down. First class finish from Samuel but Caldwell really should have dealt safely with the ball!
    • 39' GOAL St Johnstone!!!! Mistake by Celtic defender Caldwell and out of nothing Samuel pulls one back for the Saints. Shocking mistake, real horror show by Caldwell, and nice finish from Samuel.
    • 38' Mowbray likely to be pleased with the clinical finishes of his side in the first half.
    • 33' The Saints have conceded four goals in less than three halfs of football this season and boss Derek McInnes has work to do shoring up his defence.
    • 30' Two quick-fire goals and Celtic all over the Saints now. Visitors with all to do to stop at rout at Parkhead.
    • 29' GOAL!!!! McGready to Hinkel after some lovely work from McDonald and Maloney - the smallest man on the pitch - heads Celtic into a 2-0 lead. Lovely goal - Main had no chance!
    • 27' More danger from McDonald who has two swipes at the ball before Main forcing it out for a corner.
    • 24' Another dangerous chance for Fortune who nearly doubles Celtic's lead!
    • 23' GOAL! Quick feet from Maloney as he picks out Fortune who takes his chance superbly to give Celtic a 1-0 lead.
    • 21' Home side creating series of half chances now as McDonald goes close.
    • 20' Celtic developing some momentum now and Maloney sends over decent cross which Main does well to claim.
    • 18' Nice move from Celtic but McGeady unable to get over his shot as he sends it over Saints' bar. Dangerous from the home side.
    • 14' Brown forced into making superb tackle - great tracking back by the Hoops player after lovely pass from Morais almost puts Millar through on goal.
    • 10' No clear-cut chances in the first 10 minutes but Celtic enjoying most of the possession and territory.
    • 7' Free-kick Saints and Grainger's low shot is blocked by Fox.
    • 3' McGeady already proving a handful for the Saints defence, which is leaving room for Hinkel to attack from deep.
    • 2' The Saints meanwhile are looking for their first win after being held 2-2 at home to Morthwell on the opening day.
    • 1' Celtic's home season gets underway and the Glasgow giants will be expecting another victory following their opening day win at Abderdeen last week.
    • - The Saints show three changes to their starting line up. Liam Craig and Kenny Deuchar are out of the eighteen while Steven Milne drops to the bench. In come Gary Irvine, Millar (pictured) and Collin Samuel.
    • - St. Johnstone also have their injury problems with Kevin Rutkiewicz (knee), Graeme Smith (thigh), Peter MacDonald (hamstring), Kevin Moon (groin) are still on the sidelines alongside long-term injured Andy Jackson. The good news for the Saints is that Chris Millar has recovered from his calf injury.
  • Summary

    • 76' GOAL!! Morris has pulled another one back for the Saints. 5-2.
    • 74' GOAL!!!! McGeady feeds Maloney after some lovely one-touch football and McCaffrey concedes corner. Quick penalty by Maloney and Fox and lovely ball to MacDonald who makes it 5-1.

  7. #91 I think his problem is more sexual than mental. As soon as that boy has dipped his wick,he will be transformed. I think I should point out to him. His level of people skills and the fact,he has less charisma than a house brick. His quest to lighten the load in his sack. Will be futile. Perhaps pretending he's mute, comined with a visit to a "massage parlour". May well bring success.

  9. Brassneck you are so wrong. My wife is protestant, her 3 brothers are rangers daft. We get on like a house on fire. I would gladly put myself in harms way to protect them and my many rangers supporting friends. Also I'm confident that the same can be said for them regarding me. The rest of the world has moved on. You are in a very tiny number of Scots who dwell in the distant past.

  10. Redneck has obvious mental problems. He is no more wanted by Rangers than he is by Celtic. Football is football. We enjoy the rivalry. But to spout bile like redneck does is unacceptable. I have reported him to Yahoo. I hope they do something this time.
