You sold your sole to the devil(sky)to have the best league owned by foreigners ,managed by foreigners played by foreigners and you wonder why the national team is struggerling!
Even the seniors are struggling in the WC qualifying. Currently second in a group they should be dominating and no guarantee of finishing first, or second.
this is really a big lost , Pearce could never manage , his ego is to big , go now pearce and let someone who knows about how to manage take the reins
Before people start getting carried away, reaching the under 21 finals is a good achievement. We have done so for the last three tournaments. Yes we are out and didn't play well, however Mr Pearce is short of at least 6 players of high quality. And also where are France & Portugal? They didn't make it...............
Doesn't matter who England takes, they still won't be good enough.
Before the rebranding of the English Premiership, the league was boring, English players did go abroad, the national teams struggled. When foreign players came the league took huge leap, started to dominate European elite clubs competitions. yet England and her players still struggles. one would have expected that the presence of foreign talents would inspire the English players and their managers, yet it has failed. Did read somebody says its the presence of foreign players that denies the English boys enough playing time? that's absolute rubbish, just another excuse. if they are good enough they will only get their places, they ll get clubs abroad signing them. Italian league has more foreign players before the premiership and still a legion, the Dutch, the Germans, the Spanish etc. Not until England bury their pride, acknowledge their boring passionless style of football and adopt a more skill oriented players development programs, they will keep hipping their average players and heart breaks in tournaments. Only, players like, Sturridge, and a few that I can't recall now have shown the guts of Ex players like Chris waddle, Steve Mc manama, Paul Gascoigne, John Barnes. these are players that had the courage to on opponents defenders and no wonder they made it to the Semi finals of Italia 90 with equally well travelled manager, the Late Bobby Robson.
unless our younger players can break through in the premiership then pre-haps they should look abroad to advance because with more and more forgein owners they have little chance.
I hate to say this as i like the Guy a lot but it needs to be said....Stuart Pearce shouldn't be anywhere near coaching international Football at any level, sadly tonight for me personally was just an horrendous journey of flashbacks to the bleak and dark days of the Pearce era at Man City when we were getting leathered at Maine Road every other week by the likes of York City & Macclesfield town. Having said that, not all the blame should be pointed towards Stuart Pearce as every single Player needs to take a damn good hard look at themselves in a mirror because there is one thing for absolute certain, these same Players totally disgraced the sacred England shirt tonight and not a single player on that pitch is as good as they or the English gutter press try to portray or hype them up to be. Norway flew back 4 Players who played the full 90 minutes of a full Norwegian International game but a few days ago and drafted them straight into tonight's U21 team, so where were all these so called exciting English youngsters we have heard so much about and including those who played a bit part in the meaningless friendly against Brazil last week???, all probably sprawled out on copa-cabana beach topping up their suntan's. Sadly The English Premier League is going down the exact same route as the Scottish Premier League of a few years ago when it become very hard to actually find a Born & Bred Scotsman playing in a Scottish Team and the prime example of what is happening in this country harps back to Arsenal's Champions League Final of 2006 when Wenger's squad of 18 International Players consisted of just two Born & Bred English International player's (Ashley Cole & Sol Campbell). The English Premier League has had it's day and is no longer the best League in the World, it's not even a close 2nd or 3rd behind Spain, Germany and France where all the top player from around the World are now wanting to ply their
Question for uncritical comments ... are there no foreign players in Italy and Norway; just as someone commented was Norway not beaten in the qualifiers? Please look deeper and be critical of the problems and stop pointing fingers.
Absolutely pathetic, but a sad reflection on our young players and the way their development is hampered by the premier league clubs' demand for ready made expensive foreign players. Some of our better players were unavailable; surprise, surprise, but Norway were missing players too. This was even worse than the Italy game; we seemed restricted to hump it anywhere up and under football against a well organised, but modest opponents. Unless we are going to take these competitions more seriously in future, we might as well not bother at all. Playing for your country at any level used to be an honour and a privilege, but not any more. We really do have our priorities wrong these days; now we worship the great money god of the premier league and Sky TV and to hell with the national side.
We just can't play tournament football, we beat Norway twice in the qualifiers....................
Stuart Pearce hasn't a clue + players playing for themselves and not as a team, usless is the word.
One word .......Embarrassing !!
Israel 3 England 0 (11.06.2013)
Time for a change. New manager please.
Seriously, this result losing to the Norway won't lie... just look at how England produce their young footballers...and it's getting worse and worse, less and less each year...compare with say, China hundreds of their young footballers have already started playing competitive football, whether or not their standard is way below epl, which are invaded by foreign players anyway...so in another 5-10 years, you will not be surprise to see England being trashed by China in a friendly (not world cup because this England team will not even qualify for the future world cup)...
Stuart Pearce,clogger as a player,clogger as a coach.
This tournament is holding up the lads Ayia Nappa hols......
All boils down to , these young players not getting regular matches in the prem, due to all the foreign influx, and that also has the same effect on the big boys
If half the under 21s was not playing in the full England squad we might stand a chance
