    Time:90'
    • Rangers
    • Bremen
    • FT There is the final whistle and Rangers have got a great lead heading into the return leg in Germany next week
    • 90' As the clock ticks over to 90 minutes, two minutes of extra time is announced
    • 89' Hemdani becomes the first Rangers player to receive a yellow card for time-wasting
    • 86' Rangers should have had a third as Naldo produces a shocking looping, headed back pass. McCulloch is there to take the ball past Wiese and Naldo does brilliantly well to get back and prevent McCulloch from tapping home into an open goal. Rangers are appealing for a penalty saying that Naldo shoved McCulloch, and they may well have a point, but the ref is having none of it
    • 81' Almeida hasn't had the best of introductions to this game and is finally shown a yellow card for talking out of turn. He has been back-chatting the referee for every decision thats been made since he came on and the ref has finally got tired of it!
    • 80' Davis and Dailly collide just outside the area and Weir is forced to get back and defend a dangerous cross from Jensen
    • 78' Bremen have a corner and there is not a single blue shirt outside the box and Rangers desperately try not to conceed an away goal!
    • 75' McGregor is called into action for the first time in a fair while as Jensen hits a low, bouncing shot from 25 yards out. But the Rangers keeper does well to hold on to the ball and snuff out the danger
    • 74' Rangers substitution: McCulloch replaces the injured Cousin
    • 73' Cousin has wandered off the field of play holding the side of his face clearly in a fair amount of pain
    • 71' Naldo is very lucky to escape a red card here as he thumps a knee into the back of Ferguson and sends the Scot sprawling onto the ground
    • 69' Adam produces another moment of brilliance just holding the ball up to slow the pace down before feeding Ferguson, whose shot from the edge of the area only just drifts wide of the right post
    • 68' Rangers continue to rattle Bremen's defence as Cousin races down the right wing before sending his cross over towards the far post. But there is no-one waiting on that side of the goal and the chance goes begging
    • 66' With 66 minutes gone, Naldo is shown the first yellow card of the match for his late challenge on Broadfoot
    • 64' Werder Bremen substitution: Pasanen makes way for Boenisch
    • 63' The first real sign of danger from Bremen as Hunt sends the ball skidding across the front of the goal for Almeida to chase. But the substitute cannot quite get on the end of it and the ball drifts out for a goal kick
    • 60' Ferguson, on the left wing, chips the ball towards Davis who is motoring towards the left post. But the Fulham loanee cannot quite get on to the ball quick enough to re-direct it back towards the goal and his header drifts wide
    • 59' Werder Bremen subsitution: Vranjes comes off in favour of Almeida
    • 56' Hemdani goes down in what looks like a fair bit of pain after receiving a knee in the back from Diego
    • 52' Diego taps the free kick to Naldo, who thumps the ball over the wall and goalwards but his shot never really worries McGregor as it clearly sails over the bar
    • 51' Dailly is penalised for raising his foot during a challenge on Jansen and Bremen have a dangerous free kick
    • 48' GOAL RANGERS! 2-0! Another shocking peice of keeping from Wiese gifts Rangers a second goal just after the restart. Ferguson finds Cousin with a neat, defense-splitting pass. The Frenchman's cross is close enough to Wiese for the collect but the German instead opts to try and slap the ball and only succeeds in deflecting it straight into the path of Davis, who taps home from six yards out
    • 47' Papac's chip over the Bremen defence almost falls for Ferguson but, under pressure from Mertesacker, the Rangers frontman just fails to get to the ball in time to get a decent shot in
    • 45' Bremen get the second half underway ...
    • HT There is the half time whistle and just as we were beginning to think there was nothing much to report from the first 45 minutes Rangers have an unlikely 1-0 lead
    • 45' GOAL RANGERS! 1-0! Cousin puts Rangers ahead on the stroke of half time and Wiese will not want to watch a replay of this in a hurry. Cousin spots Wiese off his line and opts to loft the ball goalward from 35 yards out. It should be a straightforward for the German but somehow he fails to catch the ball and allows it the bounce off his hands, over his head and into the back of the net! What a shocker!
    • 43' Deigo whips the resulting corner in towards the far post but Hemdani's header does not have enough power on it to trouble McGregor
    • 42' Fritz advances down the right wing for Bremen but Adam is back to block his long-range, fairly poor shot
    • 38' Adam's cross is cleared by Mertesacker but only as far as Davis who is hovering on the edge of the area. Davis' shot though is a poor one and it sails over the bar
    • 37' Adam will get another chance to wreak havoc from a free kick, albeit with a cross rather than a shot, as Mertesacker brings down Ferguson
    • 33' Adam's free kick once again worries Wiese considerably as the German frantically scrambles back towards his goal but in the end the shot is just over the cross bar letting Bremen off the hook
    • 32' Back down at the other end Baumann brings down Cousin about 35 yards out and Adam is loitering with intent
    • 32' Pansanen tries to feed Rosenberg, who heads wide from the penalty spot, but the offside flag is raised. That was a narrow decision and Rangers are pretty lucky to escape, certainly McGregor is not at all happy about it!
    • 30' Bremen are currently enjoying their best period of possession so far in the match although still they don't seem to be able to put anything together in the final third of the pitch
    • 26' Adam's free kick takes a slight deflection on the way through to goal and requires a very quick reaction slap away from Wiese. Ferguson was right there though and had he managed to make any contact with the ball whatsoever, Rangers would have the lead right now
    • 25' Baumann brings down Davis on the edge of the area gifting Rangers a very dangerous free kick
    • 24' The unusually quiet Broadfoot gets a bit of action on the right wing but his cross is comfortably cleared by Pasenen
    • 21' Bremen enjoy their first chance of the night with Rosenberg being allowed far too much time and acres of space to get himself in a shooting position before unleashing a bullet from 30 yards out. McGregor is equal to the task though and flies through the air to turn the ball behind for a corner
    • 19' Rangers continue to build the phases but Adam's final cross is, this time, a poor one and Davis stands little chance of getting on the end of it, although a slip didn't help his cause much
    • 17' Mertesacker and Cousin battle to chase down a loose ball, a tussle that leaves both of them slow to get up after they end up tangled in the hoardings
    • 15' Davis produces a great flick to put Broadfoot clear on the right wing but Hunt just gets back in time for a last ditch tackle and wins his side a defensive throw in. Dangerous times for Bremen
    • 13' Adam receives the ball just inside the half way line and spotting the goalkeeper off his line opts to try a cheeky little chip. In the end the ball sails well over the cross bar but Wiese was a nervous man for a few minutes there as he desperately tracked back!
    • 11' Naldo looks keen to make his mark on the match and decides to try his luck from 40 yards out as Rangers back off. But the Brazilian hasn't created enough space for himself and his shot only makes it five metres before it is blocked
    • 9' Diego's free kick is a poor one though and Adam heads the ball away, albeit only as far as Pasanen
    • 8' Weir is penalised for having a bit of a tussle with Rosenburg about 35 metres out providing Bremen with their first real chance to create something
    • 6' After that bright start from Rangers Bremen are only just beginning to play their way into the game. But they are still short on possession in their own half
    • 4' Adam looks like he is going to cause Bremen a fair bit of trouble tonight as he whips a vicious cross into the box. Shame there are no Rangers players in a dangerous position
    • 2' Adam gets the match off to a great start for Rangers as a failed clearance falls kindly for him right on the edge of the box and the youngster sets Ibrox alight with a great left-footed volley that forces Wiese to dive across and produce a great save
    • 1' Rangers get the match underway at the Ibrox ...
    • 19:58 The players are out on the pitch with the toss just taking place so the action should get underway in two or so minutes time
