- 37' Now Corluka goes into the book himself. Heis chasing of Thygesen through midfield proved fruitless, he tugged at his shorts and felled the midfielder. Two very different but equally worthy bookings in as many minutes.
- 36' Florescu goes flying in on Corluka and rightfully gets a booking. He dived in with studs up, knee high! It wasn't pretty, but the Croatian escaped any real contact.
- 34' Gelson intercpets in midfield and slides a ball forward for Sturridge, who turns inside and SHOOTS... Low and a foot wide of the post.
- 30' There's a nice, open feel about thsi game now. Elano sprays a ball across the pitch to Petrov, who volleys a cross back into the box. It canons off a defender for a corner, but City fail to work a chance from the set piece.
- 25' Ben Haim joins the attack and feeds Petrov on the wing. The cross comes in and STURRIDGE IS UNMARKED AND HE VOLLEYS... He miscued it and the ball almost stops dead! To be fair it was not a bad effort, but he had to time that exactly right and he didn't.
- 22' The ball is going from end-to-end now, and the crowd are finding their voice. Petrov's dive is not fooling the referee and Midtjylland can clear.
- 21' Petrov gets a little break after some confusion between two defenders and he's in the box to chip it over the keeper... The angle was a bit too wide and it hits the top of the net. It was a big ask, even for the skillful Bulgarian.
- 20' After an opening 15 minutes in which City were comfortable but not dangerous, now the Danish side are giving them a real go.

He draws the defenders and finds Olsen in space and he blasts the ball in from the edge of the box giving Hart no chance!- 9' It's been a quiet opening period, both in terms of action and atmosphere at Eastlands.
