Wales' hopes of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup were dealt a major blow after a 2-0 defeat by Finland at the Millennium Stadium. More
90'+2 That's it! All over in Cardiff and that could be a very damaging defeat for John Toshack's side!
90'+1 GOAL! KUQI MAKES IT TWO! Finland break and the Crystal Palace man is played in on goal... he picks his spot and curls it into the far corner! 2-0 and game over!
89' Kuqi comes on for Forssell as Finland look to waste a few precious seconds...
79' Sjolund comes on to replace Eremenko now...
77' Oooh! Double save from Hennessey to keep Wales in it!First he gets a hand on a Johansson cross before denying Forssell on the follow up! But Wales are being carved open seemingly at will!
75' What a break from Finland... Pasanen gets it in acres of space on the rightÂ… he cuts inside and fires goalwards! Collins gets back to stomach the ball away!
72' Oooh! Hennessey spills a shot and it nearly falls into the path of Johansson! But the flag is up on the far side and even if the goalscorer could have controlled it, it wouldn't have counted...
71' Ledley is replaced by Earnshaw as Toshack plays his final card...
65' Here comes another Welsh change... Robinson for Fletcher, like for like.
63' Jaaskelainen is shown a yellow card for time wasting! Bit early for that, isn't it?
56' John Toshack deems it time to make a change... on comes Ramsey in place of Edwards...
55' Ledley clears off the line from the corner! It's a great header from Tahinen which loops over Hennessey's head, but not Ledley's!
54' Oooh! Forssell brings a great save out of Hennessey! Again it's Litmanen who is the architect... Forssell hammers an effort goalwards only to see the Wolves keeper get down well to tip round the corner!
51' At the other end, Litmanen plays Forssell through on goal! But the striker snatches at his shot and sees it roll wide of the mark!
50' Bellamy plays in Koumas... his first touch is a bit heavy, allowing Jaaskelainen to come off his line, narrow the angle and make the save!
49' Davies steams off on a great run forward... he's stopped in his tracks by Heikkinen and that'll be the first booking of the day.
46' Here we go again! Back underway in Cardiff!
45'+1 And there goes the half-time whistle... Finland head into the dressing room a goal to the good!
45' Oooh! What a break from Finland! Forssell gets on the end of Eremenko's cross following another lovely through pass by Litmanen! He takes a touch and that allows Bale to get back and make a crucial challenge! That's a real chance wasted by the former Birmingham man!
43' GOAL! FINLAND TAKE THE LEAD! And it's former Charlton man Jonatan Johansson who gets it! It's a lovely ball from Litmanen to find Johansson's run... he gets there just before Hennessey and prods the ball past the keeper... it rolls agonisingly slowly over the line! 1-0 Finland!
37' Chance now for Wales! Koumas is played in on goal... he tries to square the ball for a team-mate instead of going for goal himself but it's cleared by the Finnish back line!
34' Hyypia! The big defender rises well to meet a Litmanen free-kick with a downward header! It's on target, but ultimately Hennessey has an easy save to make.
23' Oooh! Collins dives in to get his head to a cross after the corner was only partially cleared! But Jaaskelainen is well positioned to make the save! He was offside anyway...
1' Here we go! Underway at the Millennium Stadium!

Bellamy shows once again what a class striker he is. Did he have a shot on goal?

on paper wales are a decent side, but in my opinion being wlesh n all, we have always had too many indivduals that cannot simply play as a team, look at giggs i mean how sorry do i feel fo him being the awesome world class player he is, never even qualified for a major championship with his country

Finland won! Wales is kind of a bunch of losers

Litmanen is a great player

We have not got enough top class players[wales].England will fail in the end,and we
can then have fun.Major league country failure european championship,up West Indies
cricket.

Wales or rubbish engerland to win there group and wales to go out

Danny Colins being left out of the squad is the biggest mistake ever by john bollock,
Collins has been Mr Consistant playing for Sunderland in the prem for the last two seasons, Its a joke that he's been overlooked for some of the Rubbish that i saw playing today. All because they had a fall out. I think it comes down to playing with the best players you have at your disposal.Collins would be by far the best centre half for wales, can even play left back.

I was there, 22,604 people were there, total @#$%.
The finish fans made more noise than us!
Disgraceful

id rather coco the clown as manager than John Toshack

Stick to going down the noodle mines boyossss

i have lost all faith in wales, what a gutless performance!!!

what is the difference between english football and that of wales, scotland and ireland?of course the foreign players.Whatever the succeses of English clubs in Europe is just because of the legion of foreigners.
From what i have seen today Wales should bury their incompetent head in shame and forget football for now, better still form a supporters club to cheer other serious minded football country. They are a suplus to reguirement.

Wales may not be as good as England or Ireland in football but any team would struggle with the dismal attendance they got. About 20,000 people in a 75,000 stadium - PATHETIC. Where's the welsh support?????? or r wales just like New Zealand - they love rugby...and that's about it. NZ are one trick ponies - Have Wales become so as well?

NOW, you can talk with football fans all over the world online!!!! you just need to log on ___classymingle.com____ as soon as possible~~~~~~

@#$% performave Wales. Just not good enough.

Well done finland (not a finland fan really) but i thought wales and finland would draw 0-0.

pwild69! There's always the repeat dream of 1966 again and again and again and again this year. A Nation of 50,000,000 people and yet very little talent! Yet you gloat about being the best. Arrogance and yet talentless.

Wales are @#$% !
