    • FT AND THERE IS THE FINAL WHISTLE. It took a while for the Scots to get going but their World Cup dream is still alive. They will still probably have to beat the Netherlands on Wednesday to have a chance to make the play-offs and they will have to do that without James McFadden but the important thing is they have given themselves a chance. Group Nine details
    • 90+2 Pandev flicks the ball up and tries a volley but it goes wide of the target.
    • 90+2 Scotland just playing the ball around in these final moments.
    • 90' There will be three added minutes.
    • 89' It is Scotland who are pressing in these final moments and another goal could come in handy if goal differance has to play a part on whether they get a playoff spot.
    • 87' Macedonia look dead on their feet while Scotland are happy to see this one home. The Tartan Army are now enjoying themselves.
    • 85' Hutton tries his luck from distance but it goes well over the bar.
    • 83' Miller plays in Maloney and it looks like Scotland will have another but he fires poorly wide. He used his left foot when he should have fired with his right.
    • 82' More good news for Scotland - Wesley Sneijder has picked up a knock for Netherlands in their friendly with Japan and is now a doubt for the clash at Hampden on Wednesday.
    • 81' BRILLIANT GOAL FROM JAMES MCFADDEN!!!!! He picks the ball in his own half, skips past three players (playing the ball through the legs of the final defender) before rounding the keeper and placing into an empty net. Superb goal and Scotland surly now have the three points.
    • 80' Final Macedonia change. Ibraimi on for Stojkov
    • 79' Great stuff from Miller as he skips past his man down the right. He has no support so he tries a low shot from a tight angle but it goes just wide of the target.
    • 78' Maloney feels he is fouled but the referee waves play on. Macedonia have a little spell of pressure but McManus defends well and clears.
    • 77' Scotland seem to have found that little extra bit of adrenaline while Macedonia are starting to look leggy.
    • 75' Pandev blazes a shot over the bar as another half chance comes to nothing.
    • 74' McFadden cuts in from the right and curls a shot with his left foot just wide. Good work again from Hutton to set the attack up.
    • 72' The hero of the hour is making way. Scott Brown is coming off and Paul Hartley comes on.
    • 70' Maloney with a clever ball sets Whittaker up down the right. He cuts into the box and gets a shot away but it hits the side netting.
    • 69' Macedonia make another change Grozdanovski on for Georgievski.
    • 68' Scotland make their second change. Shaun Maloney on for Steven Fletcher.
    • 67' Superb stuff from McFadden who skips past a host of Macedonia players before chipping back a little low cross but there is nobody there.
    • 65' Whittaker with a nice cut in from the right but his shot is a little high and a little wide. Decent effort all the same.
    • 64' Macedonia make a change. Tasevski on for Naumoski
    • 63' GREAT CHANCE FOR MACEDONIA. They break with pace and Pandev then cuts in from the left. He checks it back to Georgievski who is free on the edge of the box but he skies his shot MILES OVER THE BAR.
    • 62' Hutton with a great run down the right but he can't produce a cross to match the run.
    • 60' Scotland moving the ball around better now but they still really could do with a second goal.
    • 59' Despotovski skips past Hutton but then sees the ball run out of play before he can get in a cross.
    • 58' Naumoski almost played in but he was offside. Scotland still looking shaky at the back though - how they would love a second goal.
    • 56' SUPER HEADER FROM SCOTT BROWN!!!! Scotland have the lead. Patient build-up from Scotland. Steven Fletcher curls in a great cross and Brown with a superb glancing header into the corner of the net gets his first goal in a Scottish shirt.
    • 54' Much more open in this second-half and you feel that the first goal could be key here. Both sides now look like scoring.
    • 52' Miller with a little space in the box gets a shot away. It is not great but Nikoloski spills it and for a moment it looks like it might break to a Scottish shirt before Macedonia make a last gasp clearance.
    • 51' Steven Fletcher found in the box but the ball is a little behind him and his header goes wide.
    • 51' PANDEV PLAYED CLEAN THROUGH but Gordan saves with his feet. Pandev had Stojkov clear beside him and if he checked it back it would have been an open goal.
    • 50' BAD MISS FROM MCFADDEN. Great break from Scotland and a Steven Fletcher cross is deflected into the path of McFadden - he checks back superbly and has a great chance to fire on target but he scuffs it high and wide.
    • 48' At the other end Weir has to improvise to clear a cross from Stojkov while he was facing his own goal.
    • 47' Better stuff this from Scotland - another little attack ends with Alexander shooting well wide but at least Scotland are showing some ambition.
    • 47' McFadden does well to dig out a cross from the left but Steven Fletcher just cannnot get his head on it.
    • 46' After a bout of the Proclaimers it looks like the Scots fans are up for this again and Miller and Brown are both out. They seem to have recovered from their injuries.
    • - While waiting for the second-half to begin why not check out some photos from Hampden
    • HT There goes the half-time whistle - a few Macedonian players look to chase down Scott Brown but are pushed away. Brown walks off with a cheeky little smile on his face. It seems like he quite enjoyed winding up the Macedonians. Scotland need to worry about their first-half performance though which was frankly abysmal. They are lucky to still be 0-0.
    • 45+3 Miller flicks on the corner but it goes wide.
    • 45+2 Macedonia are FURIOUS with Scott Brown who doesn't kick the ball straight back to Macedonia. Brown instead smashes it against a Macedonia man for a corner. Not very sporting but the Scottish fans are happy with it. Despotovski and McFadden are booked for giving lip and that means MCFADDEN IS OUT OF THE DUTCH MATCH.
    • 45+1 Naumoski gets a ball in the face and goes down. The Scottish fans think he is acting but it looked pretty painful to be fair.
    • 45' Brown gets a yellow card for hanging onto a yellow shirt.
    • 44' GORDON HAS TO PUSH AWAY A DRIVE FROM PANDEV - another real let off. The Scottish defenders are just too slow to close down the Lazio man and he gets a low drive away from the edge of the area.
    • 43' Anybody who brought a book to Hampden Park could read it in peace and quiet at the moment the ground has gone that silent. The Scottish fans are usually a lively bunch but you cannot blame them for being so low-key given this performance.
    • 42' Macedonia lose possession with a stray pass and the only reason why it is notable is because that has been such a rare occurrence today.
    • 40' Both players are back on and seem to be okay. The Scottish bench are not happy though because there was a delay in getting Brown back on.
    • 38' Scott Brown is down needing treatment and Kenny Miller looks hurt too. Brown has been FAR AND AWAY Scotland's best player so they really need him to return.
    • 37' Good run from Brown down the right and the ball is eventually checked back to Alexander but he tries a little chipped pass when he should have shot. Scotland are then nearly caught on the counter attack but they managed to clear.
    • 36' The ball pings around the Scottish area for a little spell before the Scots finally clear.
    • 35' Lovely flick by Naumoski finds Pandev who tries to play it back to Naumoski but Alexander cuts in to clear the ball behind for a corner.
    • 35' Steven Fletcher just overcooks a ball to Miller who found himself behind the defence but he was offside anyway.
    • 34' Scotland relieve the pressure but their spell down the other end ends with a poor shot from Whittaker that goes well wide of the target.
    • 33' Pandev now pops up down the left and Weir has to head away his cross. The Lazio man looking very dangerous.
    • 32' Gordon has to rush out again to avoid Pandev getting in from close range. Scotland doing a lot of defending.
    • 31' Now a mix-up between Alexander and McManus but Scotland get away with it. They look very nervous though.
    • 29' Good work from Macedonia down the right again - Stojkov is slipped in by Pandev but he tries to cut it back to Despotovski when he should have shot. The ball is cleared but only to Sumulikoski on the edge of the box - but his cross is poor.
    • 28' Scotland on the back foot again here now as Macedonia enjoy a spell in the Scottish half.
    • 26' Alexander with a poor free-kick from the left that Darren Fletcher tries to get under control but fails.
    • 25' So 25 minutes gone and the Scotland forwards have barely had a kick. Same problem for Scotland today as they have had throughout the campaign. They just cannot create any chances.
    • 24' Scott Brown turns his man and storms into the box. He fires a low shot towards the near post but it hits the side-netting. Half the ground thought the ball had gone in but the keeper looked to have had it covered in any event.
    • 22' Stojkov drifts in from the right again but Stephen McManus gets to the ball first to cut things out.
    • 21' Scott Brown tries to get things going with a powerful run from midfield but he just runs into a yellow wall.
    • 19' Despotovski whips in a good free-kick but no Macedonian can get a head on it and Gordon gathers.
    • 17' Mitreski is given a yellow card for a heavy tackle on Stephen Fletcher.
    • 16' The ball is cleared but only to the edge of the area. Chance for Brown to shoot but he flashes his effort wide of the target. Still, Scotland's best moment so far.
    • 15' Scotland finally having a little spell in the opposition half. Brown is fouled just outside the right side of the box. Chance for McFadden to whip a ball in.
    • 13' Pandew chips a ball in for Stojkov on the left hand side of the box and he then flashes another shot over the bar. All Macedonia at the moment.
    • 12' Scotland are going to have to make a change as Callum Davidson has pulled his hamstring. Rangers' Stephen Whittaker will come on.
    • 11' Good work from Macedonia down the right and Stojkov is able to check it back form Pandev who FIRES ON TARGET. And Gordon has to push it away at his near post. Another warning sign for the Scots who are second best at the moment.
    • 9' Hutton gets a first chance to whip in a cross from the right but he overcooks it and Nikoloski watches it go over his head and wide.
    • 8' Sumulikoski goes in heavy on Hutton but while the referee gives the free-kick, he keeps his cards in his pocket.
    • 7' Popov gets a free header from a corner but it goes well wide of the target but yet another little warning sign for Scotland. The visitors have started better.
    • 6' Pandev spins into space in the box again and then plays it off for Georgievski who is smothered out by three men.
    • 5' Some neat passing from Macedonia before a ball is played aimlessly down the right but still enough to show that these boys can play a bit. They're no mugs.
    • 4' Scotland looking to get Hutton forward down the right in the early stages but the match has still to settle down.
    • 3' Sedloski, who once had a breif spell with Sheffield Wednesday, tries his luck with the free but Scott Brown is out like a shot to block the effort.
    • 2' Pandev spins past Weir and the veteran defender has to bring the Lazio man down 30-yards from goal. Chance from the free here.
    • 1' Macedonia being whistled every time they get the ball in early stages.
    • - And Macedonia wearing yellow get us underway.
    • - Before the match there is a minute silence for the victims of a boat accident in Macdeonia earlier today.
    • - As usual the Tartan Army give it socks for the "Flower of Scotland" sung by some guy who looks like Santa Claus in a kilt while the Macedonia anthem is respectively observed.
    • - The teams come out at Hampden Park to a huge roar from the fans and also some nifty fireworks. Sell-out crowd in Glasgow today.
    • - The sides have only played once before, in the 1-0 win for the Macedonians in Skopje on September 6, 2008. That little nugget and some other facts and figures can be found in our pre-match stat-pack. Scotland desperate for win
    • - Lazio striker Goran Pandev became Macdeonai's all-time record scorer with 17 international goals after he netted twice in their 3-2 home friendly defeat to Spain on August 12. Goran Pandev profile
    • - The reason why 39-year-old David Weir and McManus are in defence together is because Gary Caldwell is suspended, after his red card in Norway, his brother Steven is injured, while Christophe Berra has been ruled out due to illness.
    • - Scotland are still in good shape to finish second in their group but that may not be enough for a play-off spot. The second placed team with the worst record will NOT make the play-off. With the Scots final match being against the Netherlands it really is must win today. Check out the Group Nine details
    • - The most interesting name on that Scottish team is Stephen McManus who is making his first start this season after having knee surgery in the summer.
    • - The Scotland team today: Gordon, Hutton, Weir, McManus, Davidson; Alexander, Brown, D. Fletcher, McFadden; Miller, S Fletcher.
    • - Welcome to our LIVE coverage of this must win game for Scotland as they take on Macedonia at Hampden Park.
