    • - Thanks for joining me this evening; make sure you stick around for more!
    • 90+3 FULL-TIME: Wales were game, but they were undone by a professional performance on the break by the Germans. Two goals with slight elements of fortune about them, but the visitors were deserved winners.
    • 90 Gomez thinks he has been played in by the quick free-kick, but he is caught offside...he missed the shot when faced with Hennessey anyway.
    • 89 Lahm leads the break down the left...halted when Ballack is tripped inside him...
    • 88 Wales win a late free-kick, on the right corner of the box...good delivery into the middle...but Collins gets too much on his flick and the ball flies harmlessly over.
    • 87 Earnshaw, busy all evening, comes short to collect a pass, spins and runs at the defence...but his pass out wide is intercepted.
    • 85 CLOSE! Gomez has been unlucky tonight! He almost bags himself a goal when a deflected cross lands at his feet in the box...but his shot on the turn flies over the crossbar.
    • 83 Patrick Helmes is coming on to give Germany even more of an attacking threat on the break in the final stages.
    • 81 Bastian Schweinsteiger is down holding his groin; looks like he might have tweaked something.
    • 80 The home side are still snapping at the heels of the German players in midfield; Toshack has clearly told them to get in amongst them.
    • 77 Wales have put in a lot of effort this evening, but they just don't look like breaking Germany down. The Euro 2008 runners up have just been too canny.
    • 75 ...Evans meets the corner, but his header is easily claimed by the German keeper.
    • 74 Wales win a corner...Davies goes over to the right as Evans holds his arms up in the middle...
    • 73 Westermann comes on to replace Rolfes, who has worked hard for Germany this evening.
    • 71 Cotterill comes on to replace Nyatanga at the back for Wales
    • 70 Crucial defensive header from Williams to stop Ballack's through ball reaching the rampaging Gomez.
    • 68 OH! Close to a third for Germany as Bastian Schweinsteiger brings a smart save out of Hennessey at his near post.
    • 67 Germany are picking Wales apart on the counter attack with some really neat, crisp passing...
    • 66 Beck clips a fine cross into the box...headed clear by Collins, who has been a giant at the back for Wales.
    • 65 Germany are looking ominously good again as they break when Wales commit men forward...
    • 63 OOH! Bastian Schweinsteiger collects a neat pass inside by Ballack, goes round his man on the edge of the box...but sees his left-foot shot driven straight at Hennessey.
    • 62 ...Hennessey easily comes through the crowd to collect Beck's free-kick.
    • 61 Bastian Schweinsteiger is crudly brought down by Bale on the Germany right...dangerous spot for a set-piece...
    • 60 Vokes is replaced by Ched Evans as Toshack looks to spark up his side.
    • 58 Wales mount a bit of pressre in the Germany half...a dangerous cross almost falls for Ledley, but he can't get his shot away on the turn at the back post.
    • 57 Tasci is down holding his calf after a very clumsy, frustrated challenge from behind on the touchline by Earnshaw.
    • 56 Earnshaw is inches away from turning Vokes's header into the goal after gambling inside the six-yard box.
    • 55 Ballack tees up Podolski...his shot from the corner of the box is dragged so badly that it almost turns into a dangerous cross for Gomez.
    • 54 SAVE! Enke saves smartly from Earnshaw, who turns his marker and fires in a snap-shot from 12 yards.
    • 53 Germany are pushing and probing; they know the hard work is done in breaking the back of the Wales defence.
    • 51 Vokes climbs to meet Davies cross from the right...but he is penalised for a clear push on his marker.
    • 50 Almost a third for Germany when Podolski dummies a ball in from the left, but Gomez just can't take the ball in his stride to profit.
    • 48 OH NO! OWN GOAL! Wales go two down right at the start of the second half, as Ashley Williams diverts a cross into his own net. A tough task has just been made near impossible.
    • 46 Off we go! The second half is underway! Can Wales build on their impressive first-half performance and get themselves a goal?
    • 45 HALF-TIME: Ballack's stunning strike is the difference at the break, although Wales have had their moments.
    • 43 Lahm gets forward down the left again...he has been a constant thorn in Wales' side; they have not been able to push any one forward down their right.
    • 42 Germany aren't content to sit on this lead, they are constantly probing for a second, really making Wales defend well.
    • 40 A tenatious takle from Ramsey in midfield sets Wales going forward...but the move breaks down when Earnshaw is caught a yard offside.
    • 39 Germany have definitely looked dangerous on the counter attack this evening, particularly down the flanks.
    • 37 Earnshaw gamely chases down a through ball down the middle...Enke comes out of his box and just gets there before him.
    • 35 Not really good enough...easy for the keeper to claim, and he launches a quick counter for the visitors.
    • 34 Wales force a couple of corners as they try to mount some pressure...Davies needs good delivery...
    • 33 Ballack lashes another shot from distance narrowly wide...Hennessey looked to have that one covered.
    • 31 Lahm lays the ball out to the overlapping Hitz...but with players waiting in the middle, his cross is straight at Hennessey.
    • 30 OOH! Collins heads just high and wide after climbing well to mee the free-kick, curled into the middle...
    • 28 Bale is awarded a fortunate freekick when Beck puts a hand on him as they chase down a long ball...good spot for a free-kick, out on the left...
    • 26 ANOTHER FINE SAVE! Podolski brings another save out of Hennessey with a shot with the outside of his left boot...the Wales keeper turns the ball round for a corner.
    • 25 CLOSE! Gomez lashes a low drive just wide after Ballack had superbly laid the ball back to him, stretching after a good burst through the middke.
    • 24 Wales are making a decent fist of this; they are threatening more than people might have thought.
    • 23 Hennessey pays attention to his wall as Ballack lines up a free-kick...short to Hitz...SAVE! The shot takes a deflection, and the Wales keeper does well to palm clear.
    • 22 Wales are furious not to get a penalty when Serdar Tasci seems to bring down Ledley...replays show there was no contact, and the Arsenal man went down far too easily.
    • 20 A really poor pass from Lahm as he cut inside on a break sets up a Wales counter, but the German defence is too wiley at the moment.
    • 18 SAVE! Robert Enke makes a fine stop from Earnshaw, who superbly read Vokes's flick on and jabbed a shot goalwards from a tight angle.
    • 17 Ledley cuts in from the left on to his right boot...he unleashes a shot, blocked, and Germany break at pace through Gomez.
    • 15 Germany are starting to look threatening now; they are working the ball about with ease.
    • 14 Wales win themselves a corner after a determined run down the right from Davies...he takes the set-piece...not dealt with all that well by the Germans, but they do eventually clear.
    • 13 Ledley lashes a left-foot volley over the bar from 25 yards after a corner was half-cleared to him on the edge of the box.
    • 11 Germany have had most of the possession, but that goal came right out of the blue; their first real effort on goal, and it was an incredible strike!
    • 9 GOAL! BALLACK! Absolute stunner from Ballack, who lashes an incredible drive into the top corner from 35 yards! Hennessey had no chance!
    • 8 Group leaders Germany have made just one change from the side that beat Liechtenstein at the weekend, Simon Rolfes taking over from flu victim Marcell Jansen.
    • 7 Wales are snapping at the heels of ther Germans in midfield, not allowing them any space or time to break.
    • 5 Bale is down taking treatment on a shin injury after a crunching challenge from Hitzlsperger; the Spurs youngster is taking his time to get to his feet.
    • 4 Lahm tries to play a one-two on the edge of the box with Podolski...Collins reads and intercepts.
    • 3 Germany attack down the left...superb cross from Hitzlsperger...Gomex is inches from heading it home, six yards out.
    • 2 A very small crowd in this evening; Wales would be better served playing internationals at a smaller ground to generate a better atmosphere
    • 1 OFF WE GO!
    • 0 Okay, the players are out, the anthems have been sung and we're about to get underway...
    • - Hi there; welcome to our coverage: the big news is that Aaron Ramsey makes his first start for Wales. Robert Earnshaw also starts for John Toshack's team.

  10. well done germany, brilliant stuff. well done ballack. and hence it shows that at Chelsea it is not Ballack that is the problem. It is something else that noone dares to say: Lampard and his pathetic way of playing. Ballack has been brilliant in both games pulling all the right strings in midfield.
