    • FT And there is the final whistle - 0-0 is the score but that is not a bad result for Ireland. Montenegro look a decent side and they will cause other teams in the group problems. Four points out of six to start with for Ireland is just fine.
    • 91' Great defending from John O'Shea as he guides Vucinic out of play.

    • 89' Vukcevic cuts in from the right - Steven Reid slips, and for once a decent shot is the result, but the Sporting Lisbon man curls it just wide.
    • 88' Ireland continue to defend well - forcing Montenegro into long range shots - with Drinicic blazing another one miles over - I think that is his hat-trick now.
    • 86' Doyle gets his head on another cross but it was a bit behind him and he couldn't get it on target.

    • 71' Another Montenegro attack is ended by a defensive header by Richard Dunne. The Manchester City man has been superb for the Irish tonight.

    • 44' Ireland denied a CLEAR PEANLTY. Stephen Hunt whips in a cross from the left and Radoslav Batak makes a mess of trying to control the ball with his stomach. He ends up falling and puts his hand clearly on the ball before clearing. Ireland get a corner and then there is another appeal for a penalty as Tanasijevic looked to grab Keane has he tried to get onto the whipped cross.
    • 44' Kilbane slips down the left and Zverotic can then run into the box before checking the ball back to Jovetic. The Fiorentina teenager goes to shoot but a GREAT block from John O'Shea saves Ireland. Super defending from the Manchester United man.
    • 43' Pekovic given a little bit too much space on the edge of the box but can only drag a left foot shot well wide.
    • 42' Finally a few passes in midfield from the Irish but the Montenegro side look well organised too.
    • 40' Dunne and O'Shea look very solid at the back for Ireland but Steven Reid and Glenn Whealan need to impose themselves more in midfield.

    • 35' Jovetic tries to slip in another ball from the edge of the area but Kilbane heads clear. The Wigan man has his mask back on now too. The home crowd really getting into things now - they can smell three points.

    • 11' Robbie Keane manages to sneak into the Montenegro area before being crowded out and then an Irish cross from the right can't reach Hunt at the back post - still there are now some signs that Ireland are settling into things.
