A disastrous 10-minute spell just before half-time saw Scotland crash to a 4-0 defeat in Norway in World Cup qualifying Group 9. More
FT And there is the full-time whistle. A disaster night for Scotland and it call came from the sending-off.
90' IT IS PEDERSEN WHO TAKES IT THOUGH AND HE SCORES!!!
85' Carew - who has been Norway's key man - and B. Riise both go off and Helstad and Skjelbred come on.
78' Scotland have to make a change. Berra has picked up a knock and Steven Whittaker comes one.
77' Huseklepp makes way after scoring his first international goal with former Tottenham man Stefan Iversen coming on.
67' A Norwegian cross flashes across the box and Carew gets his foot on it. It hits the underside of the bar and looks to drop just over the line but the referee says no goal.
64' It looks like B. Riise is going to hammer home yet another goal but Davidson dives in to block the shot.
60' GOAL NORWAY!!!!! Husekleep has put it into an empty net but it was all about Carew. He turned the Scottish defence and then barged past two men before placing past Marshall. The ball hit one post and then rolled across the line before hitting the other but Husekleep slide in to score.
51' Great play from Scotland for once - Commons makes a lovely run across Miller who plays the winger in. Commons then gets a shot on target but Knudsen makes a good save.
48' Very nearly three for Norway. More messy defending from Scotland and Carew looks clear through but Marshall got out quickly to save with his feet.
47' Very nearly three for Norway. More messy defending from Scotland and Carew looks clear through but Marshall got out quickly to save with his feet.
45'+1 GOAL FOR NORWAY - They just had too much space to move the ball from the right into the centre after Hogli was found with a long cross field ball. He played it inside to Bjorn Helge Riise and he then shifted it to Pedersen. The Blackburn man then had all the time in the world to just pick his spot and curl it into the corner of the net.
37' Scotland now forced to make a change Christophe Berra comes on as a second centre-half and Ross McCormack is the sacrificial lamb.
35' AND RIISE HAS SCORED - HE BELTS IT INTO THE CORNER OF THE NET WITH HIS LEFT FOOT. It took a massive deflection off Scott Brown to be fair. Scotland now a man down and also a goal down.
34' GARY CALDWELL HAS BEEN SENT-OFF - A second yellow just a minute after his first. It was a little shirt pull on John Carew on the edge of the box nothing malicious but very silly from Caldwell and now Norway have a free on the edge of the area in a central position.
32' Gary Caldwell now booked for diving in on Pedersen.
31' Riise with another foul - this time on Hutton - and this time he is booked.
27' Big penalty shout for Norway. Alexander's miscue set Carew away and he seemed to nick the ball past Stephen Caldwell before going down but the referee waved it away. If it was not a penalty though it surely should have been a second yellow for Carew for diving?
24' Great corner from Riise that might have curled into the net had Commons not been there on the back post to head clear.
19' Hoseth is the second Norwegian to go in the book for sliding into a tackle with Hutton.
16' SO CLOSE FROM SCOTLAND! Waehler makes a mess of trying to deal with Davidson's low cross and it looks like Kenny Miller will just have a tap in from close range but Waehler blocks Miller's shot while still lying on the floor.
10' Carew is given a yellow card for getting a little bit too physical jumping up with Caldwell. That's as much for persistent fouling.
6' Carew makes a mess of trying to clear a corner at the other end and the first chance of the match falls to Darren Fletcher at the far post. He slices his shot over the bar though. That was a half chance though.
