Portugal sneak win over Bosnia

Bruno Alves's first-half goal gave Portugal an unconvincing first-leg win at home to Bosnia-Herzegovina in their World Cup play-off. More

- - Bosnia have never qualified for a World Cup, unsurprisingly given how new their country is. They were brilliant in qualifying but were unlucky to be in a group with European champions Spain.
- - Portugal can qualify for the fifth time and third in succession if they see off Bosnia. While they have been hit-and-miss in qualifying, they have not lost in eight and have not conceded in their last four home games.
- - Bosnia, while underdogs, have some real quality going forward with the likes of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko - nine in 10 WCQ games - and Hoffenheim hit-man Vedad Ibisevic free-scoring in qualifiers and in the Bundesliga. Zvjezdan Misimovic, also of Wolfsburg, is an exciting play-maker dropping off them and, despite an international ratio of 13 goals in 19 matches, Zlatan Muslimovic (yes, he is Ibrahimovic's buddy) is unlikely to start. But, unlike Portugal, they are a touch lightweight at the back.
- - Portugal will be without Cristiano Ronaldo but they cannot use that as an excuse with the likes of Deco, Simao, Nani and Liedson leading an attack-minded formation. They have been poor in qualifying though, scraping a play-off spot by the skin of their teeth in a group they should have dominated.

Acho que ja chega de utopias e o melhor ate e deixar a Bosnia ganhar o proximo porque eles tem uma equipa muito melhor e todos naturais do pais. Que vergonha e esta de jogar com quatro estrangeiros ? Fora com o Madail e fora com o Queiroz!
