    • 3' Alex Song was named in the Cameroon team, but Aurelien Chedjou comes in for him from the start.
    • 2' The Dutch are 21 games unbeaten - the longest undefeated record in international football.
    • 1' We are underway.
    • 19:25 The players are trotting out for the national anthems in Cape Town. Let us see how this match turns out.
    • 19:20 No Dutch player has been sent off in their last 26 competitive matches - Khalid Boulahrouz and Giovanni van Bronckhorst were the last in the infamous match against Portugal at the 2006 World Cup.
    • 19:15 Samuel Eto’o can become the fourth Cameroon player to score in multiple World Cups, following Roger Milla, François Omam Biyik and Patrick Mboma.
    • 19:10 The Dutch have played 16 internationals against African opposition, winning nine, drawing five and losing two (1-2 v Egypt in 1928 and 1-2 v Morocco in 1999). The most recent was a 4-1 win against Ghana in May.
    • 19:05 Oranje have not lost any of their last five matches to be played on a Thursday including World Cup draws against Ireland (1990) and Mexico (1998).
    • 19:00 Cameroon and the Netherlands have previously met on two occasions, both in friendlies (1998 and 2006) and only one goal was scored in the two matches, Ruud van Nistelrooy netting in the 2006 match.
    • 18:55 Paul Le Guen's side already out of contention after losing their first two matches, are desperate not to become the first Cameroon team to go home pointless from a World Cup. Having made several changes for the second game after complaints from players, he switched four for Thursday's clash as Landry Nguemo, Jean Makoun, Gaetan Bong and Eric Choupo-Moting were all drafted in.
    • 18:50 Right-back Van der Wiel is one of three Dutch players on a yellow card, who if cautioned again, would miss the next match. Netherlands, already assured of a place in the last 16, need only a draw to guarantee top spot and a second-round meeting with Slovakia.
    • 18:45 Winger Arjen Robben was on the bench again for Netherlands as coach Bert van Marwijk made only one change -- bringing in Khalid Boulahrouz for Gregory van der Wiel. Robben missed the opening wins over Denmark and Japan with a hamstring strain and though he trained on Thursday, Van Marwijk has opted against risking his most creative player from the start.
    • 18:40 The referee is Pablo Pozo of Chile.
    • 18:35 Teams: Cameroon: 16-Hamidou Souleymanou; 19-Stephane Mbia, 7-Landry Nguemo, 3-Nicolas Nkoulou, 2-Benoit Assou-Ekotto, 8-Geremi, 11-Jean Makoun, 6-Alexandre Song, 9-Samuel Eto'o, 13-Eric Choupo-Moting, 12-Gaetan Bong. Netherlands: 1-Maarten Stekelenburg; 12-Khalid Boulahrouz, 3-John Heitinga, 4-Joris Mathijsen, 5-Giovanni van Bronckhorst; 7-Dirk Kuyt, 6-Mark van Bommel, 10-Wesley Sneijder, 8-Nigel de Jong, 23-Rafael van der Vaart; 9-Robin van Persie.

  3. Wasn't it Kuyt who was offside when van Persie received the ball, who then prevented two Cameroon players from preventing van Persie from shooting? That is called interfering with play, therefore that first goal should not have been allowed. Rotten refereeingas usual. The linesmen are no help either. Might as well play tiddley winks.

  8. It is a shame that ref is unshamely calling the game one side. Cameroon may not be good it is equality wrong to allow the durts to break any Cameroonian leg. One day we will see a game wheree a ref is not partial then we will have a WC for all. I di find this unprofessional from the part of ref. Please let people know that on the filed every tackle is the sam and must be sanctioned equally.

  13. Let us wave Cameroon goodbye home. With or without a point is OK as long as they leave S Africa on 2 feet. At tthis stage when every thing is against you, just have to have fun and enjoy self. It will be a long time before Africa host another WC, so have a good time and score if you can. Else return home and tell your people the story of the game.
