    • 12:10 Germany have played Serbia on 27 previous occasions, winning 16, drawing four and losing seven.
    • 12:05 For Serbia, who have reached their first major tournament as an independent nation, the stakes could not be higher. Serbia lost their opening hand falling to Ghana 1-0. "We didn't play at the level we are used to during the game against Ghana. Each team mate has to do better than they usually do ... to win against a very good opponent," coach Radomir Antic said.
    • 12:00 With inspirational captain Michael Ballack missing through injury and poor performances by several players at club level last season, the German side was widely written off in the run-up to the competition, despite their impressive World Cup record. The backbone of Germany's squad is from the European under-21 championship winning team in 2009.
    • 11:55 The German team is the country's youngest in 76 years, but Loew said his players had cool heads and would not get carried away with their scintillating early form. "I have to put things into perspective and I think players can do that, I think they can handle this pressure well," Loew said.
    • 11:50 Thomas Mueller believes Germany are well placed to top Group D. Watch video
    • 11:45 Serbia made three changes and brought in Neven Subotic in place of the suspended Aleksandar Lukovic. Zdravko Kuzmanovic was given a start instead of Nenad Milijas in midfield and Milos Ninkovic was included in the lineup after being left out for the 1-0 defeat by Ghana.
    • 11:40 Germany coach Joachim Loew stuck with the young team that pounded Australia 4-0.
