    • 90+3' There goes the final whistle! A 0-0 draw with Serbia. Not what the home side were looking for. Serbia seem happy with their lot. Certainly happier than Scotland.
    • 90+1' Great save by Vladimir Stojkovic to halt the shot by Forrest. Almost the winning goal from Adam's pass. Scotland inches away.
    • 89' Brilliant stop by McGregor. A fantastic save from Tadic, who gave Webster the slip. Vital they don't lose this match, but that was almost one point down the drain.
    • 88' Vladimir Stojkovic comes out to collect the loose ball. Scotland trying to push forwards, but looking a bit tired here.
    • 87' Adam's deliveries today have not been up to the mark. Pretty indifferent stuff. Scotland have three minutes left to find a goal or not to lose one.
    • 86' Fejsa bundles Mackie to the deck. Referee is going to hold up play with Aleksandar Ignjovski going over on his left ankle.
    • 85' Dejan Lekic replaces Filip Djuricic. Striker for striker. Ninkovic fells Mackie and Scotland have a free-kick, but Adam's delivery is woeful.
    • 84' Webster doing well to knock the cross out of play. Dangerous ball by Kolarov. Another change coming imminently from Serbia.
    • 83' Rhodes given a huge reception by the Scotland fans after his arrival. All or nothing perhaps for Scotland. Or something if neither team can score. Not sure Scotland will be overly happy with one point from this.
    • 82' Jamie Mackie replaces Morrison for Scotland with Jordan Rhodes taking over from Kenny Miller.
    • 81' Morrison brings down Filip Djuricic as he cut a dash up the park. Ninkovic lifts a shot miles over the bar.
    • 80' Ninkovic has been booked for hauling back Caldwell. Not a bad free-kick to concede with Scotland on the move.
    • 79' A long hopeful ball by Morrison flies straight out of play with Naismith never going to get on the end of that.
    • 78' Scotland playing in front of Serbia, but not really going anywhere with it. Clock not really on the home side's side here.
    • 77' Adam slings in a fine free-kick, but Miller is again found wanting in his positional sense. Miller looking a bit tired here.
    • 76' Late challenge by Kolarov on Hutton. Chance to sling a free-kick into the heart of the box.
    • 75' Forrest under pressure. Knocks the ball long down the park. Scotland suddenly being hemmed in. May be a need to change this with 15 minutes remaining.
    • 74' Serbia getting themselves on the ball again here. Dixon doing well to make the tackle on Ivanovic. Solid stuff again from the youngster.
    • 73' Webster gets the ball away from the cross of Tadic. Forrest seemed to be fouled, but referee said no.
    • 72' Dusan Tadic chips the ball long, but Dixon is against doing well at the back post. He has had an excellent match for Scotland at left-back today. Scotland with the goalkick.
    • 71' Scotland will be looking to get Forrest on the ball, but Dixon is forced to do well to block the run of Ivanovic.
    • 70' On comes Hames Forrest and off goes Snodgrass, who has performed well here today. Needed to freshen it up.
    • 69' Kolarov smashes the ball long under pressure from Berra. A change coming then for Scotland.
    • 68' Young Celtic winger James Forrest being given his orders before he arrives on the park. Critical moments these. And vital times in this qualifying campaign.
    • 67' Lovely move by Scotland as Naismith sped into the area. Just the keeper to beat, but chips the ball over Vladimir Stojkovic and wide of goal. Scotland ripped open the Serbians there.
    • 66' All getting a bit tense here among the home fans. Scotland have only lost three of their past 15 home games. Argentina, Spain and the Netherlands the only winners at Hampden.
    • 65' Forrest told to go and warm up. Maloney also warming up as Vladimir Stojkovic comes off his line to collect a dipping cross by Dixon.
    • 64' Looks like it may be time for Scotland to freshen matters up here. Jordan Rhodes and James Forrest the likeliest arrivals.
    • 63' Kolarov inches away from the opening goal for Serbia as he flashes a shot wide from 15 yards. Scotland cut open there. Best move from a Serbian point of view.
    • 62' Dusan Tadic has replaced Darko Lazovic for the visiting side.
    • 61' Adam picks out Morrison from the corner. Lovely ball towards Miller, but he mistimes his run as the ball races out of play. Was a real chance there for a headed finish.
    • 60' Milan Bisevac makes a solid tackle on Morrison. 11 corners to one in favour of Scotland now.
    • 59' Kolarov seemed to be playing Miller onside from the Snodgrass pass, but the linesman thought otherwise. Miller almost in there for a shot on goal.
    • 58' Good play by Scotland. Miller runs into the box. Clips the ball at goal, but Vladimir Stojkovic is out quickly to make the save. Better from the home side.
    • 57' Ivanovic knocks the ball behind under pressure from Miller. Scotland with another corner here.
    • 56' Miller throws a hopeful ball into the middle, but easy enough for Serbia to clear in the heart of their defence.
    • 55' Aleksandar Ignjovski decides to try his luck from 35 yards out. Ball flies wide of the target from distance. Scotland should close that down quicker.
    • 54' Kolarov slams a pass out of play. That is sloppy play by the Serbians, who haven't been overly impressive today.
    • 53' Morrison takes up a good position out wide. Trying to throw a decent ball in on top of the goalkeeper, but he knocks it out of play.
    • 52' Naismith trying to pounce on scraps in the Serbia box from Snograss's corner. Fine header by Berra, but wide of goal.
    • 51' Kolarov heads the ball out for a corner from Adam's hopeful long diagonal ball and Scotland will have a corner.
    • 50' Kolarov fouls Berra in his own box after Dixon was well positioned to head over his own bar. Really good positioning.
    • 49' Snodgrass has been booked for an elbow on Kolarov. Wasn't much in that, but the referee opts for a yellow.
    • 48' Tosic cuts inside from out wide. Lovely nutmeg on Naismith, but smashes the shot across the face of goal and out for a throw-in to Scotland.
    • 47' Change for Serbia at the break with Ljubomir Fejsa replacing Srdan Mijailovic.
    • 46' We are ready to go for this second half. Scotland will get the action started.
    • 45+1' Glorious chance on the break for Scotland, but poor delivery by Adam and the chance is lost. Whistle sounds for half-time. 0-0 at half-time.
    • 44' Going to be one minute of time added to the half due to the injury to Ninkovic.
    • 43' Fine save by McGregor as Lazovic fires a shot through the legs of Andy Webster from 22 yards. Smart stop by the former Rangers goalkeeper.
    • 42' Craig Levein sporting a pair of darkish glasses today. Not sure what he will make of this so far. Looking a bit anxious in his technical area.
    • 41' Adam sends Miller speeding into the box after Mihajlovic had his pocket picked by Morrison. Almost a gift for Scotland, but the Vancouver forward lifts the cross out of play. Poor finish to that move.
    • 40' Time for a breather as Ninkovic receives some treatment. Siniša Mihajlovic, the Serbia coach, none too happy with that challenge. He used to revel in those back in his playing days.
    • 39' Hutton wins the ball from Ninkovic. Takes the ball, but goes in with his studs up. Referee blows the whistle. Don't get away with those these days.
    • 38' Scotland wallowing in so many free-kicks, corner kicks and good positions out wide. Needs a goalscorer in there. Anyone for Jordan Rhodes?
    • 37' Snodgrass dinks the ball into the middle, but he hesitated too long with the cross and the visiting side can clear the danger.
    • 36' Lazovic takes out Hutton deep in his own half. Hutton may be a bit rusty having being frozen out of action at Aston Villa.
    • 35' Serbia have failed to score in four of their five past outings so not exactly prolific either. Adam brings down Kolarov and that is a free-kick to the visitors.
    • 34' Scotland would benefit from some time on the ball. Working ever so hard to try to close the ball down. Not easy on the legs around the wide areas of Hampden Park.
    • 33' Dixon sees his clearance blocked. Tosic tries to take the ball on, but is eventually crowded out by a number of blue shirts. McGregor collects.
    • 32' Miller brings down Nastasic at the halfway line before Naismith retrieves the ball back in his own half. Excellent defending by the Everton man.
    • 31' Ivanovic smashes a 40-yard shot off the head of Caldwell. Not sure what the story was with that, but Serbia have a period of possession here.
    • 30' Adam swipes the free-kick at goal rather than drop it into the box. Easy enough take for Stojkovic in the visiting goal.
    • 29' A booking for new Manchester City defender Nastasic as he fells Hutton with a late, late challenge. Another free-kick for Scotland.
    • 28' Serbia trying to get themselves on the front foot, but Dixon comes up with a superb tackle in the home box. Had to time that right.
    • 27' The Tartan Army begin to give their usual rendition of the Sound of Music 'Do-Ri-Mi' as Levein comes out of his technical area to make a few hand signals.
    • 26' Bisevac hammers a shot miles over the bar from distance. Scotland will take those all day long.
    • 25' Lazovic goes too early and is caught well offside. Wouldn't have mattered as he missed the goal with his shot.
    • 24' Quick thinking by Caldwell to take a few quick free-kicks that has caught Serbia napping out there. Scotland probably should have the lead here.
    • 23' They work a quick corner, but Snodgrass's delivery just misses the head of Naismith, who would have opened the scoring if he had got anything on that ball.
    • 22' Scotland take the free-kick quickly as Snodgrass forces Stojkovic to make a decent stop. Serbia all over the place at the back. Miller almost in.
    • 21' Snodgrass taken out of the action late by Kolarov and Scotland have another free-kick.
    • 20' Dixon makes sure he gets the ball back to McGregor with a header under pressure from Tosic.
    • 19' Sweeping move by Scotland down the left flank as Dixon's cross is cut out by Ivanovic. Scotland piling bodies forward, but Serbia holding firm from these corners.
    • 18' Nastasic playing Miller onside, but he can't gallop onto the loose ball as it runs out of play. Miller has nothing to work with so far.
    • 17' Serbia with an average age of 23. Very young starting line-up, but they seem to be up to the task so far out there.
    • 16' This match being played in a robust sort of atmosphere. Neither side particularly like the look of each other.
    • 15' Naismith fortunate to avoid a red card off the ball after clipping Mijailovic with an elbow off the ball. Retaliation obviously, but not the cleverest idea.
    • 14' Kolarov heads over his own bar from the delivery by Adam. Scotland fairly sticking the ball into the mixer today. Plenty of crosses but no goals.
    • 13' Snodgrass fouled by Ignjovski out wide and that will be a free-kick for Scotland.
    • 12' Great ball by Dixon into the heart of the Serbia box. Knocked behind by Bisevac for a fourth Scotland corner.
    • 11' Serbia so slick on the break. Dixon and Hutton really have to be mindful of their defensive duties.
    • 10' Brilliant break by Caldwell after Morrison lost the ball in his half. Caldwell having to make a superb tackle on Lazovic after he left Hutton for dead. Real warning signs.
    • 9' Morrison taken out of the action late by Mijailovic. Serbia are not hanging around here. Flying into the challenges.
    • 8' Mijailovic heads behind his own goal from Adam's free-kick before Stojkovic comes to pick the Adam corner out of the air. Poorish delivery.
    • 7' Brilliant diving stop by McGregor to claw out the effort by Kolarov. Brilliant save by the Scotland goalkeeper before he takes the cross.
    • 6' Berra seemed to be be pulling back Djuricic and that is a free-kick to Serbia 25 yards out. Early problem here for Scotland.
    • 5' Naismith on the dash for Scotland, but that is a fine tackle by Nastasic in the heart of his own box.
    • 4' Dixon trying to play himself into this match on his debut. Scotland with the ball, but Miller fails to control a Morrison free-kick.
    • 3' Scotland have only won one of their opening past five World Cup qualifiers, Neil McCann scoring a last minute winner in Latvia bakc in 2000.
    • 2' Miller on the move right away as he is tackled by Nastasic wide on Scotland's right flank. Scots looking to get some nice possession here early on.
    • 1' Serbia get the match off and running in front of a packed crowd at Hampden Park. 50,000 in for this. Superb atmosphere.
    • 14.55 Teams are on their way out. Looks a glorious day to string a few passes around Hampden Park. Scotland in traditional blue, Serbia in white.
    • 14.50 Eurosport's Desmond Kane has penned a blog on Scotland's struggles over the past 14 years. Read his latest offering here. Berti Vogts was figure of fun, but joke’s on Scotland
    • 14.45 Match odds for his one: Scotland 8/5, Serbia 7/4, Draw 11/5.
    • 14.40 Sinisa Mihajlovic (Serbia): “We know the kind of problems we face. We have a lot of smaller creative players who can cause the Scots problems. We’ve watched them and Wales and both are more dangerous at home than away. They do not have a great quality, but make up for it with toughness, and a desire for victory. We must match the Scots in these elements and, if we do, then our quality will win the day. We have players who can neutralise the virtues of the Scots and seize on their flaws.”
    • 14.35 Craig Levein (Scotland): “Jordan (Rhodes) has appeared on the scene, and he gets a big move to Blackburn. We’ve got Ross McCormack banging in goals. Jamie Mackie is another one playing regularly in the Premiership, so we are starting to look a bit better in that area. Jordan scored on his debut, his starting debut, which is a dream for anyone. Of course, Steven Naismith can play through the middle, too. We’re very, very lucky in those attacking areas.”
    • 14.30 Nemanja Vidic has decided against reversing his retirement from international football but the man tipped as his successor - Manchester City's new signing Matija Nastasic - is in from the start at Hampden. Adem Ljajic remains sidelined having failed to sing the national anthem but former Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic is in fine shape and is handed a starting berth.
    • 14.25 Wolves defender Christophe Berra starts after his partner gave birth to a baby girl. Good news for him and manager Craig Levein on the defensive front. Levein was already without full-backs Steven Whittaker and Phil Bardsley and saw Danny Fox and Russell Martin pull out on Monday, while Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew is receiving treatment for an Achilles knock. Levein called up Huddersfield left-back Paul Dixon and he starts the match. Kenny Miller is preferred to Jordan Rhodes up front.
    • 14.20 Teams: Scotland: McGregor, Hutton, Berra, Webster, Dixon, Caldwell, Snodgrass, Morrison, Adam, Naismith, Miller////Serbia: Stojkovic, Ivanovic, Bisevac, Nastasic, Kolarov, Mijailovic, Ignjovski, Ninkovic, Duricic, Tosic, Lazovic.

  1. archibald, "Smith has done it at international level" ? as i said, talk me through it, i must have been in a coma or abducted by aliens as i missed what is supposed to have done at international level, he walked away, i know that, but tell me of his great international achievements.

  2. Richard son, you have a very low opinion of yourself and your country, your not looking at the bigger picture, it's easy to slag Scotland and the Scots, as it is any nation, but not so easy to champion it's cause, i hope Andy Murray has shut your big mouth for a wee while, yes our football team is not great, big deal, the world does not revolve around football, and my nation does not revolve around football, broaden your horizons son, which country came bottom of a poll of best place to live in Europe? england, yes, your beloved england came bottom, i know you might be Scottish, but your one of that breed of traitorous Scots, i often wonder why you live here? why don't you just go and leave us alone?

  3. And so the McCrone report is dragged into the Theater. This report was a Weapon of Mass Destruction. It demonstrated that Scotland could become a Northern Kuwait independent State. Of course this troubled the UK Government and the thought of having an oil wealthy independent State on the Northern Border was causing all sorts of images to come out of solution in the minds of those who thought ahead further than the next cabinet reshuffle. England and Scotland at war? Yes - this was a worry but dwarfed by the real terror of Scotland descending into a Religious war zone ten times worse than the concurrent "troubles" in Ireland at that time. It started with Henry VIII and 2000 words will not deal with the history of the Catholic - Protestant issues blighting the history of the UK. Suffice to say that a WEALTHY independent Scottish state of 4.5M Protestants and 1.5M Catholics, was the potential petrol to the flames of dis-grunt across the sea. Can you imagine ( and the Government DID) what the result might have been? A war in Belfast....Troubles starting in Scotland...Independence from England followed by a Scottish religious war as the Catholics fought back against 300 years of English Protestant rule. Ireland joins with Scotland in that war. Two countries on the English borders , 10M strong and by now, more or less an even fight. Suddenly the Dutch House of Orange and the German Lutherans join forces with the Protestants ( as automatically the English would) and the Catholic Irish/Scots invoke the Auld Alliance. 1690 ? 1990 ? Can you see what it is yet? Indeed McCrone, this was a WMD and it was buried more deeply in the vaults of Westminster than Hussein's were in the Sands of Iraq.

PS you had better check out the actual recipe for Haggis. It has more brains in it that you clearly do.. Oh and by the way, check out the McCrone report, written in the 70s by an adviser to Westminster and kept secret by the then government. You think things are financially bad for England and Wales just now? Just wait...

Scotland have never had a striker in the last 20 years. Kenny Max Factor Miller tries his wee heart and legs out but he is yet another headless chicken , in the tradotion of Gordon Juke Box Jury and all before him. Look into the Scottish teams eyes. Levein is just soo fixated on the players he is mates with... or so it seems. My line up would be an attacking 442 formation with GK-McGregor (Gordon preferably if at best), LB- Dixon, CB Berra, CB Caldwell, RB- Hutton, RM- Mackie, CM Snodgrass, CM Brown (Fletcher if well and fit), LM Naismith (I think he would do a good job there), ST- Rhodes, ST Mcormack
