    A Formula One appeal court has rejected McLaren's bid to reinstate Lewis Hamilton as Belgian Grand Prix winner. More

  1. - Thanks for joining us today... time for a lie down! Until next time!

  2. - McLaren team radio: "Fantastic job Lewis, great job Lewis!" Hamilton: "That's what I'm talking about!"

  3. - What a finish to the race! Hamilton takes it as he extends his lead in the championship race! And what an ending for Heidfeld, who gets a podium!

  4. 0' HAMILTON WINS! Massa crosses the line second with Heidfeld in third!

  5. 1' With the track getting ever more slippery, it's getting very difficult for all the drivers! Hamilton is creeping round... but he's going to win this one!

  6. 1' Incredible end to the race! Hamilton is out in the lead but he's all over the place! All he has to do is stay on the track, but it looks difficult at the moment!

  7. 2' Raikkonen spins out and into the wall! His race is over and Hamilton is close to taking victory!

  8. 2' Hamilton off onto the grass! But then Raikkonen spins off ahead of him! Hamilton takes the lead again as the rain causes havoc!

  9. 2' Hamilton takes the lead with two laps to go! Hamitlon cuts a corner, gives it back before both cars touch on the McLaren driver's way through! Great stuff at the death!

  10. 4' Raikkonen is hanging on for the time being... Hamilton locks up slightly in the chicane and he loses ground on the leader!

  11. 5' Hamilton flies round to cut the gap after the first sector... this looks good for the British driver! 0.9 seconds stands between him and Raikkonen as nervous faces in the Ferrari garage look on!

  12. 7' Umbrellas are going up in the stands at Spa... and that's good news for Hamilton!

  13. 7' Hamilton closes to within 1.6 seconds... he has Raikkonen in his sights and with rain on its way, the McLaren driver will be confident of stealing victory at the death!

  14. 8' Massa is closing on Hamilton... 3.2 seconds behind his championship rival. It's all very tight.

  15. 9' Hamilton is still pushing hard... he's now 2.3 seconds behind Raikkonen with nine laps remaining. The rain is coming...

  16. 9' Renault team radio to Alonso: "Just keep building the gap in case we need to change to the wets".

  17. 10' Kubica has a lengthy pit stop and he comes out in eighth behind Bourdais, Vettel and Heidfeld.

  18. 13' And to prove it, Massa is going quicker than anyone at the moment... still plenty of racing to go today.

  19. 13' The gap between Raikkonen and Hamilton is now down to 1.7 seconds... meanwhile Ferrari have denied there's any trouble with Massa's engine.

  20. 14' 30 laps gone and anything could happen in this race... Hamilton is enjoying life on harder tyres and he's going to push Raikkonen all the way.

  21. 15' Hamilton has cut the gap to 2.5 seconds now! Massa is a further four behind.

  22. 17' But of course, Hamilton is leading Massa and he is the main threat to his top spot in the championship race. Whether he's happy to settle for second remains to be seen.

  23. 17' Hamilton's on harder tyres now and he's flying round! This race is going to get tight towards the end! Let's hope for a grandstand finish at Spa!

  24. 18' Hamilton's just 3.8 seconds behind Raikkonen now after that pit stop!

  25. 18' Rain is expected in 20 minutes!

  26. 19' Raikkonen and Hamilton pit at the same time... this should be interesting... looks like it's worked out better for Hamilton...

  27. 20' Hamilton is still 5.536 seconds behind the leader Raikkonen... but he's leaving Massa - his nearest rival in the championship - a long way behind.

  28. 22' Barrichello has retired after suffering gear box problems - he lost sixth gear. With Monza still to come with the same gearbox, he thought it better to pull out.

  29. 23' After 21 laps, Raikkonen leads from Hamilton, Massa and Alonso.

  30. 26' Hamilton's early spin has given him a mountain to climb... Raikkonen looks good out in the lead.

  31. 26' Hamilton is 5.8 seconds behind leader Raikkonen with 26 laps gone.

  32. 27' Vettel pits... 7.5 seconds for the Toro Rosso man... he comes out seventh!

  33. 28' Kovalainen serves his penalty and is now in 14th place... it's not the best day for the McLaren driver.

  34. 29' Piquet skids off and whacks the barrier... he won't be able to continue and we have our first retirement of the race!

  35. 30' Hamilton has lost a little ground on Raikkonen after the pit stops... he's currently in fourth.

  36. 31' Massa pits on lap 13... 7.6 seconds, a good solid stop from Ferrari. Meanwhile Kovalainen pits, but will have to go back in next lap to serve his penalty.

  37. 32' Here comes Raikkonen into the pits... 7.1 seconds for the Ferrari driver! And he comes out in third, behind Alonso and Massa, who now leads the race but is yet to pit.

  38. 33' Hamilton pits.... 6.8 seconds for a refill. He comes out side by side with team-mate Kovalainen, who was investigated for that incident with Webber and is given a drive-through penalty...

  39. 34' Webber gets bumped off by Kovalainen! Harsh on Webber, who will now have to hit the pits for some minor repairs. Kovalainen takes seventh.

  40. 35' Hamilton puts in a decent lap time... but he's still 0.8 seconds behind the leader Raikkonen. Meanwhile, Massa is consistently slower than his Ferrari team-mate and is now six seconds behind.

  41. 35' At the moment, the weather is holding up... no rain so far, but who knows how long that will last?

  42. 36' There goes Kovalainen, into seventh, and he made that pass look easy.

  43. 37' Kovalainen homes in on Kubica in the seventh place... he's currently lapping third fastest behind Raikkonen and Hamilton.

  44. 38' Massa is struggling to keep with his team-mate Raikkonen... the Brazilian is five seconds off the pace of the leader.

  45. 40' Raikkonen leads Hamilton by 1.4. seconds after five laps, the Brit a further two seconds ahead of Massa.

  46. 40' Kovalainen takes Piquet with ease on the straight to move into eighth... he's slowly but surely fighting his way back after that awful start to the race.

  47. 41' Bourdais holds fifth place, followed by Webber, Kubica and Piquet...

  48. 41' So, Raikkonen leads from Hamilton, Massa and Alonso after three laps!

  49. 42' That was a bad spin for Hamilton, who did well to right his car and continue! Fisichella has a broken nose and has pitted already...

  50. 43' Hamilton half spins at La Source at the end of lap one and Raikkonen takes advantage to take the lead of the race on the straight!

  51. 44' Kovalainen back in 13th! Raikkonen in second, Massa in third...

  52. 44' Hamilton gets away well enough despite problems elsewhere! He opens up a decent lead after the first corner while the two Ferraris are fighting for second! Terrible start from Kovalainen!

  53. 44' Here we go! The Belgian GP is underway!

  54. - Off go the cars on the warm-up lap... there's slight spray coming off the tyres and the track looks wetter than expected in parts. The majority is dry though.

  55. - No rain is expected in the next 30 minutes...

  56. - Hamilton holds a six point advantage over Massa heading into today's GP... the outcome in Belgian could prove crucial to the outcome of this season's title race.

  57. - Not long to go now... it promises to be an exciting race, on one of the best Formula One circuits in the business. Let's hope it is, at least.

  58. - The temperature down on the track is 16 degrees while the air temperature is 15 degrees... humidity at at 73.

  59. - Most of the Spa track is dry, but the final section is damp... the weather is overcast but the rain is likely to hold off. Alonso says his team will make a last minute decision on his tyres.

  60. - Word on the track is that Hamilton might have a problem with his clutch... that could play right into Massa's hands.

  61. - Championship leader Lewis Hamilton produced a stunning display in qualifying to secure pole position for the race, with his nearest rival Felipe Massa starting in second on the grid.
