  1. 0' And the chequered flag comes down. Hamilton finishing in first spot ahead of Piquet with Kovalainen and Alonso ending in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Raikkonen, who was plagued with problems with his car and spent a large part of the practice in the pits, took 5th place. Next practice is tomorrow at 10:00(BST).

  2. 2' Piquet who's in terrific form takes 2nd spot

  3. 3' Piquet spins out of control as we approach the closing minutes of the second round of free practice.

  4. 6' But Hamilton improves on his time again to take it further out of reach with 1:20.554

  5. 8' Kovalainen is running well. He's on target to take Hamilton's best time after the first section.

  6. 12' Piquet crosses the line with 1:21.982. That's an improvement but won't move him up from 14th place.

  7. 17' Raikkonen is in the pits. His best time so far of 1:21.166 puts him in 5th place.

  8. 21' Alosno runs wide after braking too sharply on a bend.

  15. 46' Following Nelson Piquet Jr. now who currently lies in 13th place

  17. 54' Raikkonen is out hoping to improve on his 4th placed standing

  18. 57' He does it on this lap though. HAMILTON INTO 1ST with 1:20.891

  19. 60' He can't! He holds on to 2nd for the moment. Looks like he lost too much speed going into the chicane.

  20. 61' With Hamilton once again and he's up on Kovalainen's time after the first section of the circuit. Can he maintain that?

  21. 63 Nico Rosberg is up to 11th from 16th in the last round so far with 1:22.348

  22. 68 Timo Glock who impressed in the first round finishing 6th is out as is Kazuki Nakajima of the Williams team.
