Thank you for joining eurosport.yahoo.co.uk for today's qualifying. The times are on the left-hand side for you. Come back tomorrow for the race here in Monaco. Bye!
0'
It is a Ferrari one-two in Monaco!!! McLaren have the second row with Robert Kubica and Rosberg on the third row. Alonso and Trulli behind them in front of Webber, with his team-mate Coulthard 10th of course after that crash in Q2.
1'
Hamilton only goes second!!!! And now Massa.... HE TAKES TOP SPOT!!!
1' The Finn manages to improve to 1:15.815 as Kovalainen goes second... here comes Lewis...
2' Raikkonen also on a hot lap but not as quick as Hamilton so far...
3'
Hamilton in to change to softs quickly and out again on to a clear track as everyone else comes in... is this his chance?
4' Kubica second despite locking the wheels on the chicane as Lewis fails to build on third - for now.
5' After them come Alonso, Webber, Rosberg and Trulli.
6' Raikonnen approaching 1:16 as he leads Hamilton, Massa and Heikki.
8' Kovalainen first to set a time, not competitive at present you feel - they have the fuel loads on board they will carry to the race.
Q3 Qualifying three starts.
0' Glock, Button, Heidfeld - bad news for BMW - Nakajima and Barrichello are the five to drop out. Bye bye. Mark Webber eighth in that section of qualifying - his team-mate's Red Bull is damaged, crocked, smashed, totalled - two wheels and a lot of loose bodywork as it is winched away from the exit to the chicane. At least it happened at the end of Q2 and not the start.
0'
Trulli goes seventh as we see David Couthard smash his Red Bull into the barriers - to start with there was only a lone tyre rolling down the track with no car in sight!!! He will play no part in the top-ten shoot-out.
1' Nakajima in the other Williams looks set to start in 13th at best.
2' Nick Heidfeld one place higher than Alonso yet only 12th himself... time to sort it out Nicky... and Rosberg struts his stuff, going second between Massa and Hamilton.
3' Alonso, looking for a hat-trick of wins in the principality, also down there. He has had a front-row start with Renault this season but don't bet on becoming the first man since Senna to make it three out of three here.
4' Hamilton right behind Massa. Button improves but only to 11th, the top drop-zone place.
5'
The sun is out, clearing away any chance of there being rain in the rest of the session.
5' Massa goes top of the list again. This is good news for Ferrari, who have won the last four Formula One races but not here in Monaco since 2001.
8' Barrichello's problems include being bottom of the pile at the moment, while Jenson Button, Robert Kubica, Kovalainen and Nakajima join him in the percarious bottom five positions.
10' Massa, Raikonnen, Hamilton, Webber, Coulthard, Glock the order so far.
12' Stewards are investigating Rubens Barrichello for apparently holding up Fisichella.
15' The track temperature is 24 degrees, air temp 20 and humidity 75 percent.
Q2 Qualifying two begins.
0' Hamilton with only six laps completed, very laid back. Massa needed 10 to go fastest, but at least he's putting the hours in.
0' Massa, who hates this circuit, fastest as Piquet races over the finish line... only good enough for 16th! He will begin from 17th position. Bourdais in 16th, Vettel 18th, Sutil 19th and Fisichella 20th. Qualifying is over for them - time for a nap perhaps, or a leisurely afternoon on the team boat.
1' Piquet was on course for a good enough lap but lost the rear end and will now have to begin from the back unless he can do it on his last lap. Trulli saves his own bacon with the 10th quickest lap.
2' Nakajima climbs out but only Vettel separates him with new occupant of the bottom section Jarno Trulli... this would be awful for the Italian if he cannot get out of this.
3' Still no change in those drivers dropping out - Piquet needs to find something...
4' Kovalainen fastest now on the hard-compound tyres. The softs not working particularly well out there apparently.
5' So the drivers currently set to drop out of qualifying and make up the bottom of the grid are Giancarlo Fisichella in his Force India, Sebastien Bourdais in the Toro Rosso, Nelson Piquet Jr (Renault), Kazuki Nakajima (Williams) and Adrian Sutil (Force India).
9' Raikonnen with 1:15.717 to go top before Hamilton goes quicker with 1:15.582. Their places secure for Q2, you feel.
10' Alonso fourth, but the BMWs are yet to post a time - as is Hamilton. He is fastest in sector one though on his flying lap.
12' Heikki Kovalainen, Felipe Massa and world champion Kimi Raikonnen at the top of the timesheets. And now Nico Rosberg - who lives in Monaco and is comfortable on the track, having set fourth in morning practice - goes fastest in his Williams.
15' Sebastian Vettel with 1:16.955 to usurp him. The new Toro Rosso looking good, although he has a five-place grid penalty for using a new gearbox.
16' David Coulthard finding seven-tenths of a second on his practice times as he completes a pair of flying laps. He is quickest for now.
Q1 Qualifying One underway.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain and no chance whatsoever in the first half-hour of the session. Good news for the drivers - bad news for lovers of carnage.
- Briton Lewis Hamilton was second fastest in two practices and quickest in the middle one on Thursday afternoon. As the drivers get into their cars, he will be thinking that he must perform in the only session that matters up to now - this one hour of qualifying.
- This is the 66th Monaco GP - and get ready, because the morning practice was affected by overnight rain... the track is drying out fast though.
