0' All over: Rosberg tops the session from Hamilton, Barrichello and Button.
2' Button fourth in the Brawn as the clock ticks down...
3' Massa fails to respond to a blue flag and has to leave the track at Swimming Pool as Fisichella draws alongside. Neither seems particularly happy.
6'
Rosberg responds on a 1:15.243 to push Lewis into second. Barrichello third ahead of Massa, Kova and flying Finn Raikkonen.
7'
Hamilton now in P1, just one-thousandth quicker than Rosberg.
8'
Williams' practice specialist Rosberg with 1:15.446 to go to the summit!!
10' And Hamilton snatches second after a lovely slide out of the final corner - no mean feat on these roads.
13' Few cars on track as final adjustments are made. Hamilton is fifth at present while Robert Kubica has not even been able to set a time in his BMW due to its many issues.
14' Conditions here are: 63 per cent humidity, 1.7m/s wind speed, 24 degrees air temperature and 41 track temp.
17' Eurosport-Yahoo! blogger Nelson Piquet Jr is 14th, three seconds off the pace in the R29 which is not running KERS this weekend. For team and driver profiles click here.
19' Button up to seventh. The Force Indias of Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil are 18th and 19th.
20' Nico Rosberg second now after a brief spell in third. His lap-time is 1:15.987, four-tenths slower than that of Barrichello.
23' Vettel the latest driver to lose control at Ste Devote. The Red Bull man, third in the drivers' standings, is 11th in this session.
26' Button out on track after extensive work to his BGP 001. He is outside the top 10.
28' Massa turns his Ferrari around in the same area as everyone else: Ste Deveote. Again, no harm done.
30'
The man at Brawn with a point to prove, Barrichello, leads the way with 1:15.590.
32'
Barrichello third now - and Kovalainen then takes P1, sub-1:16.
33' The top spots taking on a very 2008 look: Massa from Hamilton, Raikkonen and Alonso. Barrichello, Webber - in great form as he tears around the Monte Carlo streets - Kovalainen and Trulli follow.
37'
Alonso goes third but is shunted out of the leading trio as Massa tops the session with 1:16.112 despite suffering from oversteer.
39' And Webber goes 11th quickest with an impressive 1:17.061, given that he is only recently out of the garage.
41' Webber also out in his RB5. His best lap of 1:17.686 is good enough for 17th.
45' Barrichello now closing on Hamilton: his 1:16.567 is enough to take P2 with three-quarters of an hour remaining.
47' Raikkonen second quickest with Massa and Barrichello following. Alonso on the soft tyres and moves up to sixth spot.
50' Vettel goes sub-1:17 for seventh on his second timed lap after leaving the garage. Good news for Red Bull that they don't have to replace that engine.

59' Trulli third after going round in 1:16.915. Raikkonen slips in behind him, ahead of Alonso.
62' Hamilton up to fourth then second as he sets consecutive quick lap-times.

70' Jarno Trulli, who along with Toyota team-mate Timo Glock had a dreadful opening appearance here, with a 1:17.801 for second.
71'
Raikkonen and Barrichello second and third - before Fernando Alonso tops them all with a 1:17.723.
73'
The Red Bulls yet to emerge: Sebastian Vettel had an engine problem in the first session and Mark Webber apparently has a transmission issue.

77' Adrian Sutil with a spin at Sainte Devote, but no damage done.
