Live Commentary

  1. - So, Raikkonen goes quickest in the second practice session, even though Massa is still fastest over the two sessions. Join us again tomorrow for the third and final practice as the build up to the big race continues!

  2. 90' But Hamilton can't improve on his next lap and the second session comes to a close!

  3. 86' Hamilton goes through the first sector fastest overall! But he misses out on Raikkonen's best time with 1:27.579! He's on the pace!

  4. 80' Ten minutes left... and it's still Kimi Raikkonen who leads... he's still out on the track, hoping to improve before the end of the day's sessions.

  5. 68' Kovalainen racing quicker than his team-mate Hamilton so far today. That bang on his head seems to have done him the world of good!

  6. 67' Nearly a second's difference between the two Renault drivers... Alonso's fastest lap is 1:28.78 while Piquet's best is 1:29.65...

  7. 62' Track temperature is down to 19 degrees... as Coulthard goes third fastest on softer tyres.

  8. 60' Raikkonen leads from Massa, Kovalainen, Hamilton and Kubica with an hour of the second qualifying session gone.

  9. 55' Coming up on an hour gone in the second practice session of the day... not much to tell you about other than that Webber crash...

  10. 41' The slippy track is proving quite tricky... both Piquet and Alonso have had minor spins.

  11. 37' The green light goes back on and the cars come back onto the track!

  12. 35' Webber's fine... but his car is a total mess...

  13. 32' That spin has left some great black marks over the track... he spun off and went nose first into the barrier.

  14. 31' So, there'll be a three or four minute delay while Webber car is winched off the track.

  15. 30' Webber's Red Bull is smashed up... the session is stopped... both front wheels are hanging off and there's no front nose to his car! Bad mistake from the Australian!

  16. 26' Raikkonen steps up the pace a little... he leads with 1:27.543...

  17. 21' Raikkonen goes round in 1:29.235... that's okay from the Ferrari man, but still some way to go.

  18. 18' Oh dear, it looks like we've got the same situation as the first session... not many cars on the track with the slippy surface.

  19. 10' Kimi Raikkonen is out on the track... Bourdais the only driver to have posted a time so far this second practice session. 1:37.723 is the Frenchman's time.

  20. 9' Bourdais in harder tyres is still slipping a little on the track... it's still pretty greasy out there.

  21. 4' Fisichella jumped a red light in the first session and will have to forfeit a few positions on the grid come race time. Silly boy.

  22. 3' There's been a little bit of light rain in between today's sessions... so there's not too many cars out their at the moment.

  23. 2' Still very cold trackside... and most of the mechanics are wrapped up warm.

  24. - Here we go! Underway again in Turkey!

  25. - Hello and welcome to eurosport.yahoo.com's LIVE coverage of the second free practice session in Istanbul!
