Sebastian Vettel takes pole position with a 1:28.316! The Red Bull team are ecstatic as their man clinches top spot ahead of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello in second and third places respectively!
1' Barrichello must surely be making the best of a heavier fuel load than Button, with the Brazilian remaining down in eighth, with his British team mate in third. Vettel is looking to consolidate his fastest lap.
2' Barrichello has work to do down in eighth place, while Alonso's breaks look to fail him on his current lap as he ducks into the gravel.
3' Webber's fast lap takes his into third place, while Barrichello is finally out on the track to join his Brawn team mate Jenson Button.
4' Vettel sets a benchmark of 1:28.801 for the other drivers to aspire to, with the Red Bull again making the pace at Istanbul qualifying.
5' Barrichello is the only driver yet to appear, as Massa posts a fastest first sector on his latest lap.
6' Mark Webber looks to be on a flyer, with Vettel also on the track now and Jenson Button also quick.
7' Jarno Trulli goes fastest with a 1:28.858, with Raikkonen second and Rosberg third.
8' Every driver is on the track now apart from Alonso, Vettel and Barrichello.
9' With race fuels on board, the times will inevitably be slower than in Q2, but it will be interesting to see if Sebastian Vettel can sustain his advantage.
10' Q3 is underway and Kimi Raikkonen is straight out in his Ferrari in this ten-minute third round.
- The five who miss out are Heikki Kovalainen - the second MacLaren to be eliminated - Sutil, Glock, Nakajima, and Heidfeld, who thought he would be safe but dropped like a stone on the final lap.

Vettel is fastest with a 1:27.016, while Alonso keeps himself in the final session, along with Rosberg, while Trulli steals second, with Button in third and Massa fourth.
1' Webber produces the goods for Red Bull, posting a time at last to move into third place, while Timo Glock's afternoon is over after a lap which keeps him 13th.
2' Nakajima, after looking so bright earlier in the day, is out in 11th and facing elimination, while Rosberg is on the hard tyres and coming through the final two turns of his lap.
3' Webber is back out having not yet set a time in his Red Bull, while Kubica goes fourth with his previous lap. Button remains top after his fastest time of 1:27.322.
4' Heidfeld moves sixth with a 1:27.418, while Robert Kubica is looking to be on a good lap in his BMW.
5' Alonso moves into eighth, while Glock stays tenth with a solid lap in his Toyota. Vettel looks to be on a very sharp lap in his Red Bull, and will be eyeing Button's time.
6' Webber squanders his advantage, going off the track on turn eight, while Button goes first with a 1:27.322.
7' Jenson Button and Mark Webber both look to be on flying laps right now, with Trulli going third with a 1:27.466.
8' Barrichello gives Brawn the fastest time now, posting a 1:27.418 to overhaul Massa into top spot. Nakajima continues to look very good.
9' Massa pips Rosberg with a 1:27.462 and Raikkonen is in third, followed by Kovalainen and Glock who sets a 1:28.669.
10' Rosberg is back with the fastest time, setting a 1:27.672 for the other drivers to target.
11' Raikkonen and Rosberg set joint-fastest times, before Nakajima posts a 1:29.220 to take top spot for the time being.
12' 1:27.700 is looking like the time which will be required to make it into the final round of qualifying. Massa is on the attack now.
13' Nakajima is the first out on track in his Williams, with Massa and Kovalainen following.
15' Q2 is underway, and this second period of qualifying is 15-minutes in duration. MacLaren are stunned after Hamilton's elimination, but Kovalainen remains in the session.
- The big news after Q1 is that Lewis Hamilton is out of qualifying, along with Piquet, Buemi, Bourdais and Fisichella. What a disaster for the Brit!
0'
Nelson Piquet spins off the track at turn nine, while Adrian Sutil sneaks into Q2 with a good final lap in his Force India to clinch 15th place. Vettel leads qualifying, from Button at the end of Q1.
1' Hamilton is on a personal-best time, but is fighting his MacLaren as the back end of the car causes him no end of trouble. Alonso moves 11th with an improved lap in his Renault, with everyone on the track bar the leader Vettel.
2' Piquet runs off the track at turn four, while Heidfeld moves from 18th to 12th with a decent lap, and Lewis Hamilton enters the fray with the pressure on.
3' Fisichella, Buemi, Bourdais, Heidfeld and Kubica are facing elimination as it stands, but the BMW is on a much better lap now.
4' Kubica, moves from 15th to 10th with a sharp lap, while Barrichello remains #plus;0.041 behind Vettel.
5' Fisichella's lap peters out poorly, while Buemi remains in trouble down in 17th place. Lewis Hamilton is down in 15th and has a lot to do in his MacLaren.
6' Barrichello goes second with a personal best time of 1:27.371. Fisichella looks to be on a good lap with a lightning fast first sector.
7' Nico Rosberg moves up into second, with Vettel still fastest in his Red Bull. Hamilton is down in 14th, while Mark Webber is in fifth.
8' Massa moves into fourth with a 1:27.666, while Barrichello advances up into fifth place.
9' Vettel improves to 1:27.330, while Jenson Button hits third spot with a promising lap in his Brawn. Jarno Trulli is in second.
10' Massa posts a 1:28.144, before Nico Rosberg, then Sebastian Vettel take control, with the Red Bull posting a 1:27.784. Meanwhile, Raikkonen is on a flyer.
12' Heidfeld sets a fastest time before he is almost immediately overhauled by Raikkonen, then Glock and Trulli, with the latter recording a 1:28.267.
14' Fisichella, who is out on the hard tyres, sets a second-fastest 1:30.000, while Sutil posts an initial 1:29.393, but Heidfeld is pushing hard already.
16' Raikkonen, Buemi and both Toyotas are out on the track, but there has been no move yet from Brawn, or indeed Massa.
18' This will be a critical session for Toro Rosso, Force India and Nick Heidfeld, who has struggled in the second BMW.
20' The first qualifying session is underway, and Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil are the first out in their Force India cars.
- Although there is a surreal atmosphere at the Turkish Grand Prix, the drivers seem to really enjoy the circuit, with its wide corners and long straights; Felipe Massa, in particular.
- Toyota and Red Bull have joined Ferrari in sounding bullish ahead of this Grand Prix, the former with their new diffuser faring much better than in Monaco.
- Istanbul Park is in the middle of nowhere and the attendance is frankly paltry. The first qualifying session is about to get underway.
-
The circuit in Istanbul is bathed in sunshine, with temperatures of 23 degrees, a humidity of 57 per cent, and a wind of just 10km/h.
- Welcome to live text coverage of the Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul as Felipe Massa looks to secure pole position for the fourth successive season

V for Vettel, Vettel for Veloce Vendita
I hope the adults are online 2day. I think this will be positive for Hamilton in the long run. The car is total s.h.i.t.e He always says how hard the team are working - he says, and there's no reason not believe him that he is giving it everything. When he gets a decent car again - he will be quick again. Alonso and Hamilton are the 2 naturally fastes drivers out there - imo - which aint woerth s.h.i.t.e
Come on Jenson - this is your big year! You gotta do it this year!!
