Button after crossing the line: "What can I say? You have built me a monster of a car. I can't thank you enough, guys. You're all legends." Updated drivers' standings
0' Raikkonen, Alonso, Heidfeld, Nakajima, Hamilton, Kovalainen, Buemi, Piquet, Sutil and Bourdais make up the numbers. Barrichello and Fisichella were unclassified.
0' Trulli, Rosberg, Massa, Kubica and Glock complete the points.
0' Webber and Vettel with a straightforward job to complete the podium, six and seven seconds behind the deliberately-slowing Brawn respectively.

BUTTON TAKES THE CHEQUERED FLAG TO WIN THE TURKISH GRAND PRIX!!!
1' Button begins his final lap...
2' Vettel was told over the radio to stay back behind Webber as "Mark is faster". Make of that what you will.
3' Button must be dreaming already of a famous British GP victory. He's got time - he could park up and have a cigarette, were he so inclined.
4' Barrichello is out of the grand prix, having come in a few laps ago. Technical problems - and a nightmare weekend, the polar opposite of Button's.
5' Rosberg is past Massa after putting pressure on him. A bit of a silver lining for Williams.
6' Hamilton 13th after finding some pace on the soft tyres.
7' Trulli coasting in fourth with Massa behind him ahead of Rosberg, Kubica and Glock. They will be the points scorers if it stays like this.
8' He has taken half a second out of Webber in the last lap. Just don't run into him, Sebastian...
9' Is there any point talking about Button? He's probably about to lap Vettel... he's 20 seconds clear of Webber while Vettel bears down on the Australian.
10' Piquet behind Kovalainen in 15th after a last stop.
11' And Vettel is third and four seconds behind Webber after his final stop.
12' A horrible stop by Williams in the dying stages: a fumble has put Nakajhima 13th. You couldn't make it up.
13' Like Button, Vettel will be on softer tyres when he makes his final stop. Webber is on the harder compound - a small glimpse of hope for Vettel?
14' Kovalainen comes in from 12th and Buemi from 15th. Hamilton up to 14th with that.
15' Button and Webber both come into the pits. Vettel now second, but has to stop again, unlike Webber or Button.
16' Rosberg seventh after pitting from fourth.
17' Alonso goes from ninth to 12th after pitting.
18' And to show the outstanding job done by Ross Brawn and his slim team this year, check out the teams' table before the race: Constructors' standings
19' Massa in fifth heads a group which is quite close together: Rosberg, Nakajima, Kubica, Glock and Raikkonen follow.
20' Button's dominance is now unquestionable. These are the World Championship standings from before this latest win (ahem)... Drivers' standings
21' And for the second race running, the ultimate humiliation for Hamilton: being lapped by British compatriot Button.
22' Buemi shoots past Hamilton at turn eight, who really isn't having fun out there on the softer tyres. His last lap was four seconds slower than his best in the race.
23' Webber 18 seconds behind Button, who is coasting to the win in Turkey. Vettel seven seconds behind his Aussie team-mate.
24' Button now going consistently faster than Vettel in third. Not looking quite so good for the youthful German now. Race gallery
25'
Piquet passes Hamilton, his friend and former GP2 rival.
26' Piquet must have had an incident as Hamilton comes out in front of the Brazilian, son of his former world champion namesake. They are 16th and 17th.
27' Barrichello has passed Bourdais and Buemi. Hamilton 10th after passing Piquet - who had been bearing down on colleague Alonso in the other R29 - then the Briton pits.
28' Vettel slips in seven seconds behind Webber and seven ahead of Rosberg.
29' Vettel stops for a second time to allow Webber behind him past. He is miles behind Button though, two or three corners.
30' Williams man Nakajima finally stops and resumes in ninth spot.
31' Button holding off the Red Bull more easily now. The supremely-talented Vettel has been rash in the past though so don't bet against some kind of incident. Team & driver profiles
32' The problem for Vettel is that he is on a three-stop strategy: he will have to get past soon and build a big lead to have a chance of the win. Glock passes Toyota team-mate Trulli - clearly the German has a different strategy which requires greater freedom...
33' Button runs a little wide on the straight and Vettel almost gets a shot at passing him... some drama is on its way, that is for sure...
34' As the lead is reduces to 0.6s, here is the order behind them: Webber, Kazauki Nakajima (yet to stop), Rosberg, Trulli, Timo Glock, Massa, Heidfeld, Kubica, Alonso, Piquet, Hamilton, Raikkonen, Seb Buemi, Kovalainen, Sutil, Bourdais and Barrichello - right on the rear tyre of the Toro Rosso.
35' Vettel slicing between 0.2s and 0.5s off a sector... ladies and gentlemen, we have a race.
36'
Hamilton up to 13th. Go Lewis!! And Vettel now only 1.5s behind the Brawn... he is coming up behind him now!!
37'
Fisichella on his weekend: "We changed all the brake systems - but it was actually worse today. I was quite competitive and then unfortunately the brake pedal was getting longer and longer so I called the team, and we decided to come in."
38' Over the last two laps Vettel has taken a second out of Button's lead... it is now 2.4 seconds.
39' Button therefore reassumes the lead of this Turkish Grand Prix. To read about this new-ish race: Turkish GP: Stats and history
40' Webber pits from the front. And he is followed in by Rosberg.
41' Button pits and re-emerges five seconds ahead of Vettel, having taken on more fuel. They stand third and fourth behind Webber and Rosberg.
42' Wanna see some pit babes? We know you do... unless you're a girl. And straight. Pit babes
43' Alonso is the first to execute a tactical stop while Vettel also comes in.
44' Button lead is now six seconds on Vettel. Barrichello, 19th of 19, is 10 seconds behind Bourdais.
45' Barrichello comes in for a new front wing and also opts for some tyres. His championship chances are looking slimmer now... Barrichello dreaming of title
46'
Barrichello bashes into Adrian Sutil in the other Force India and loses a big bit off the right side of his front wing... that was an opportunistic move and the German should be angry that he tried it.
47' Hamilton is not happy, is he? Read all about it. Hamilton turns attention to 2010
48' Alonso comfortable in seventh between Massa and Rosberg. Button still going strong at the front.
49' Barrichello passes Hamilton and begins to contemplate Eurosport blogger Nelson Piquet Jr in 15th...
50'
Giancarlo Fisichella had an early problem with his Force India and entered the pits - and never came back out. He is the first retiree today.
51'
Barrichello and Kovalainen still at it before Rubens tries to come up the inside where there is no space - and Kova closes the door, causing the Brawn to spin!! He is overtaken by a few cars and settles back in behind Hamilton. It was good, fair driving from Kova.
52'
Barrichello burned off by Heikki with the KERS again before the Brazilian sneaks past at the next corner... but the Finn fights back to retake position!!
53' Button's lead almost two seconds as Barrichello and Kovalainen seem set for more shenanigans...
54' Barrichello up to 12th and seeking a way past Heikki Kovalainen in the McLaren, but the KERS button comes in handy for Hamilton's team-mate.
55' Button laying down fastest laps seemingly at will as he builds a lead on Vettel, who remarkably won his first F1 race last season with Toro Rosso.
56' Hamilton has dropped to 17th while Raikkonen is now ninth after Alonso and Kubica passed him.
57' Webber is also past Trulli and now third. Hamilton stands 14th behind Barrichello, who almost stalled it on the grid.
58'
BUTTON OVERTAKES VETTEL!! The German ran wide and the Englishman shot past. Race over?
58' Jarno Trulli in the Toyota is up to third from fifth, followed by Webber, Felipe Massa in the Ferrari, Nico Rosberg, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso...
58'
WE ARE GO GO GO!! Vettel and Button away well as Barrichello drops down the field!!
- The drivers are off on their warm-up lap. Earlier the air temperature read 32 degrees and the track temp 50. The track is dry.
- Ferrari's Brazilian Felipe Massa, who is chasing his fourth successive Turkish GP win after taking pole position for the past three years, qualified seventh. Full grid and qualifying comments
- Vettel qualified with two to three laps less fuel in his car than Button, with the Red Bull tipping the scales at 649.5kg and the leading Brawn at 655.5. Button was fuelled to go longer than Barrichello (652.5kg) while Webber's car weighed in at 656.0kg: those two start in third and fourth respectively.
-
The winner has always started from the top slot on the grid since the first race in Turkey in 2005 - so that bodes well for water-bottler Vettel. "We will try our best to keep this statistic alive but it won't be easy. I think we have a very good chance here, a very good car. Finally we made it; in the last couple of races we tried very hard and now we are ahead of these white cars."
- It is the German's third career pole position. He stands third in the drivers' standings, behind the Brawn duo of Button and Rubens Barrichello. Drivers' standings
- Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel starts on pole as alongside him Brawn GP star Jenson Button eyes a sixth win from seven races.

ross brawn is a genius. button isa hell of a driver. all f1 drivers are great but every one has bad days. but because jenson is in a brand new team and a brand ne wcar with mclarens old engines from last seasons car, people are saying the sport is getting boring. its about time some of the outsiders starting showing, that its not just the cars its also the drivers who make the team. good old jenson and rubens. carry on the excellent team work, and good stuff from brawn gp.
I love this year's F1, with Ferrari and McLaren struggling through out the season....
Isn't it great to watch both of these cars all coming from behind.
Also, why the media always features about this Ferrari to win this and win that even though
they know that these red cars can hardly make the podium. Media Sucks.
Congratulations to Red Bull and Brawn !!!
sase_kiprovski...
wELCOME TOO nascar IN MY WORLD...
Johnny Bop, just one correction, this time the car is winning everything, thats why we are complaining : )))
F1 sucks, im so dissapointed this year :( Wher's Mclaren, Ferarri... :(
Hay what are we all the complaning about yes last year was more interesting but we can not have it all, Lewis is my favouite but he can not win all the time he's having a baaaaaad time this year. Their is allway's next year for lewis BUT with all what is going on in the country now we have a british Driver Jenson Button doing something good for our country and we should all be greatful. Carole x
What the hell happened to lewis?
yeah this year suck the last 2 years are better, hey I agree with joe b man the car is the winner not jenson the pansy, you can see it when barrichelo make mistake, man he was flying until he got stop by sutil, you see the other cars they looklike pushover's, if jenson win the championship it just proof the stereotype that says F1 is a technology over man ability race it's just too awful !!!
I can believe how many people have very short memories. Only a few season back was we all not watching a certain German driving a certain red cart and leaving everyone in his dust? Yes last year was a good season but now we are back to one driver (NOT A FERRARI DRIVER) leading and winning all the races. I wonder if it was a Ferrari driver winning all these races would so many people be complaining??????
OUAOU!
That's unbelievable!
one unknown team comes up with 2 good drivers but not the best ones in F1 and win every race!
what the hell happen with the ''traditional'' Mclaren and Ferrari???
Is anybody fan of Brown GP???
COMMENT 143: I AM BRITISH AND YES IT IS BORING. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE 1 DRIVER WIN EVERY RACE, WE WANT TO SEE CLOSE COMPETITIVE RACING. LAST YEAR WAS FAR BETTER.
THAY SHOULD MAKE THEM ALL HAVE THE SAME CAR AND ENGINE THEN SEE WHO IS BEST, IT WOULD ALL BE DOWN TO DRIVER AND SET-UP NOT HOW GOOD THE CAR IS.
watch saloon car racing its real motor motor racing
well done jenson button, see you at silverstone on 22 jun 2009
JOE B...its true..F1 so damn boring this year..Even you don't see the race,u will know the winner(the xxxx BUTTON)
yeh I stopped watching. Like watching paint dry. The combination of one car running away and the rest spreading out and JLegard commentating kills the race. And we've had a few on the bounce now. Season is dead.
Renault is a very slow car..even alonso drive in the slow car,he could manage to get 10th!!NICE WORK FERNANDO!!!
nice one jenson ,will be at silverstone to see u win SH
I ran posts 142, 138, 132 and 131 through my English to American translator and it comes out "My team didn't win again!" or very close to it.
