  2. 56/56 - Vettel comes in fourth, and that's Toro Rosso's best ever result. Button fifth, Liuzzi sixth for the best result of his life and David Coulthard gets the final point.

  14. 44/56 - Raikkonen seems to have gapped Alonso now. He's still 7.5 seconds ahead and with only ten laps left now.

  15. 43/56 - Vettel is now up to fourth place in his Toro Rosso. Incredible!!!!

  16. 42/56 - BUTTON PITS FROM FOURTH!!! 7.8 seconds drops him to sixth.

  17. 41/56 - What a great battle we have now for seventh between Liuzzi and Heidfeld. The German tries at turn one but the Toro Rosso driver is after his best career finish and will not budge.

  18. 40/56 - Fisichella blasts by Liuzzi for sixth place down the main straight. That's Renault power for you.

  19. 39/56 - Speaking of closing gaps, Alonso is now only eight seconds behind Raikkonen. It looks like his gamble to go on hard dries is paying off.

  20. 38/56 - Button is really closing in on third place Massa. He's taken a second a lap out of him for the last three laps and is now only eight seconds behind.

  21. 37/56 - Wurz is in for his final stop. His early laps on dries has seen him move from 15th into the points.

  22. 36/56 - GREAT MOVE FROM JENSON BUTTON!!!! HE GOES BY VETTEL FOR FOURTH AT THE HAIRPIN!!!! AND INCREDIBLE. TORO ROSSOS ARE FIFTH AND SIXTH!!!!

  23. 35/56 - So a familiar look at the front of the field then with Raikkonen, Alonso and Massa the top three. If things stay as they are then Hamilton will arrive in Brazil for the last race four points ahead of Alonso and seven in front of Raikkonen.

  27. 33/56 - Raikkonen and Alonso both pit from first and second. They resume in second and third behind new leader Robert Kubica!!!!! AMAZING!!! KUBICA LEADS AND ON THE DRY TYRES TOO!!!!

  52. 18/56 - What a great lap from Ralf Schumacher. He goes by both Button and Kovalainen and is up to 13th place after his turn one spin.

  53. 17/56 - Massa pits from third. 6.9 seconds and he drops behind Liuzzi and back to sixth.

  54. 17/56 - Hamilton's lead had been 7.1 seconds before his stop. Can Raikkonen use these laps to close the gap a bit?

  55. 16/56 - Hamilton drops to fourth, AS RAIKKONEN SETS THE RACE'S FASTEST LAP!

  56. 15/56 - HAMILTON PITS FROM THE LEAD!!!! He was on a low fuel load. 6.8 seconds and he does not change tyres.

  57. 14/56 - Alonso is now 16 seconds behind Hamilton, although we think he's on a heavier fuel load.

  58. 13/56 - Speaking of retirements, Anthony Davidson is out of the race. It seems to be a mechanical failure for the Super Aguri driver.

  59. 12/56 - Ralfie's looking to join the party. He goes around the outside of Wurz - who we hear is retiring at the end of the season.

  60. 11/56 - There'a s great midfield battle for 12th place. It's the struggling Kovalainen against Jenson Button and Nico Rosberg.

  61. 10/56 - We're hearing that the rain is coming again. That could be good or bad for Hamilton, I reckon it will be a good thing. Let's see.

  62. 9/56 - Trulli puts a clean manoevre on Kovalainen at turn six. Slight contact between the pair but that's 11th for the Toyota. Kovalainen tells his crew he needs less understeer.

  63. 8/56 - Vettel is positively carving his way through the field. That's by Kovalainen for tenth place!!! Put your money on him for a point or two.

  64. 7/56 - Four seconds is now Hamilton's lead. How impressive is this from the champion-elect?

  65. 7/56 - Kubica is in the points now as he slices inside Webber's Red Bull for eighth at the hairpin.

  66. 6/56 - Liuzzi makes a clean move on Heidfeld for sixth place. Vettel is making more progress and is now 11th and on Kovalainen's tail.

  67. 5/56 - Hamilton is proving untouchable at the moment. He's now 2.9 seconds clear at the front.

  68. 4/56 - We're getting information that the rain will be stopping within the next five laps. That could throw this race wide open.

  69. 3/56 - Rosberg is having a go at Fisichella into the hairpin. Not this time Nico, but with Fisichella on full wet settings he really should be faster than this.

  70. 3/56 - Hamilton sets the race's fastest lap. He's now 1.5 seconds ahead of Raikkonen, doing exactly what he needs to in this bad weather.

  71. 2/56 - What a great start for the Toro Rossos. Liuzzi is up from 11th to seventh and Vettel from 17th to 13th!!!

  72. 2/56 - COLLISION AT TURN ONE!!! It's Rubens Barrichello and Anthony Davidson. Both get going again though.

  73. 2/56 - Hamilton, Raikkonen, Massa, Alonso, Coulthard, Heidfeld, Liuzzi, Webber, Kubica and Kovalainen over the line for the first time.

  74. 1/56 - MASSA GETS ALONSO BACK FOR THIRD PLACE AT TURN THREE. It's a poor opening lap for the Spaniard.

  80. 0/56 - Remember it's a three-way fight for the title with Lewis Hamilton 12 points ahead of Fernando Alonso and 17 clear of Kimi Raikkonen. He can win the world title today by beating Alonso and finishing within two places of the Finn.

  81. 0/56 - It'a 56-lapper today and we still don't know what the weather will do. Rain is forecast in 12 minutes, that's right at the start of the race. Will it be slicks or intermediate tyres for the teams?
