Derek may i suggest, as you seem interested in these kinds of scandal, you look into 'rare Earth metals'. Don't quote me on numbers (as i say research it) but its something like 90% of all the worlds known rare Earth metals are found in China. They use rare Earth metals in most modern technology including defense weapons and the climate warriors weapon of choice, the wind turbine.
Needless to say in the past these minerals have been sold to all buyers, the biggest being the US but now China have caught up in the technology race and their own need will match their refinement of the mineral by 2011, and so no more for sale.
The chinese have the game won now but shhhh no-one knows about it.
