Sven has demanded that the fa tell refs to ensure that all balloons have been removed from the pitch before the start of the game and not rely on the goalkeeper being able to stamp on all of them. Although I agree with this in principle it does seem rather hypocritical for the manager of a team where a fan can claim that he brings around 1500 balloons to each game - which includes one assumes all home games - to complain about them being on the pitch. By the way the fan says the goal isn`t his fault as he only brings blue balloons and the ball hit a white one.
When Huddersfield come to Chelsea in the Cup I hope they bring lots of balloons and banners and other things and have a high old time in the Shed end while we knock them out. Having a few balloons swirling around will add to the fun. What next - stopping play while the pigeons are shot? Stopping us throwing celery around? Preventing us taking in bottle tops on our drinks and forcing us to have them in our pockets temporarily?
And what about when the ball hit the overhead screen in the world cup? Maybe we should clear the Heathrow flightpath...

Years ago it used to be the thing for travelling fans to empty the trains of their bog rolls and throw them on to the pitch as streamers.
I remember David Gaskell getting his arm wrapped up in one streamer and letting a goal in. Big girl's blouse - couldn't understand how a bit of tissue could stop him moving his arm!
