3 Goal Valencia to Replace 23 goal Ronaldo?
Has Ferguson been taking his meds? Time to retire, me thinks.

Vito, SAF is a builder of teams. Valencia has not been bought as a direct like-for-like replacement for Ronaldo. He has been bought for his own talent and skills and how that will complement the team and the squad. United have won many premierships without anyone scoring 42 or 23 goals from the wing.

After 99 utd didnt have to start again, just freshen up.
The losses that utd have been hit with on the pitch this Summer are a challenge fergie has not been hit with before, interesting to see if he can cope with it. With a bit of luck he wont.

Ian, Rooney is a very good player, but he is by no means the best attacking player in Europe. He has to improve his touch, dribbling and scoring rate by quite a bit before he can even be considered to be that. The problem with the loss of Ronaldo and Tevez is that it takes the focus of the mess that is the central midfield, the weakest part of the team. Carrick has slow feet, and while his long range passing is great, his short range passing is average at best. Anderson's technical abilities seem to have diminished in the last season, Scholes is finished, Hargreaves has a chronic injury (and thus could be argued to be finished) and Fletcher, while having greatly improved, is still mediocre. Defence and attack has won us titles, the midfield has been pedestrian and workmanlike in comparison, meaning that there has been an over-reliance on counter-attacking football against the best sides.

Antonio Valencia had a decent season at Wigan, nothing spectacular. Is he CR caliber? Not by a long shot.
Some examples:
Berbatov was outstanding prior to joining MU, he still needs to prove himself.
Robie Keane went from top asset at the Spurs, to mediocre after joining Liverpool.
Deco/Sheva have been under performers for Chelsea.
Valencia is a hard worker with decent skills, it fits the MU bill, but he is not a superstar. -
