...to accuse the Germans of cheating. Rafael was a walking red card tonight. He could have had a straight red for his first offence.
For Ferguson to accuse another team of surrounding the ref is to get as blind as Wenger at his worst. What, United have never done that? Rewind any United match from the last twenty years.
United were unlucky tonight. So it goes. To blame the referee or Bayern rather than team selection, bad luck, and some inexperienced impetuousity is a mistake.

come on ian. utd have
plenty of divers who roll around
surround the ref
ask for players to be booked or sent off
the ref played no part in the outcome.
it would be ok for fergie to moan about the germans hounding the ref IF utd dont do it.
but they do. u lost fair & square.
if its any consolation barca would have beaten u anyway, so this way u can concentrate on winning the prem.
& i still think u will. your my favourites to win it.

Judging from SAF`s comments at halftime he may well have been thinking more about the way the bayern players deliberately set out to nobble Rooney. Also in the first half although Rafael was silly to react the way he did when fouled by van Bommel - who got away with the foul - the reaction of the bayern player ensured that the utd`s young fullback was booked. Finally I don`t know about you but I`m sure I`m not the only person who was disgusted by the way Ribery kept trying to get utd players booked. The ref is capable of making up his own mind and doesn`t need a player waving an imaginery card in front of him. Its time refs started booking players who do that for unsporting conduct.
