Owen still has a good goals per game ratio (something like 30 in 70 games), the problem is that has taken 4 years and there lies the problem. A fit Micheal Owen would be an asset, unfit a liability. I remember this sort of debate before Paul McGrath turned up so MON and his team need to make a leap of faith. Personally I think it is worth the gamble, but as I failed 'O' Level clairvoyancy it really would be a gamble.

I thought he was going to become a legend. He was treated shamefully by Real Madrid, where, ironically, he returned the best goals per minute ratio of his entire career.
