While he is using the same team, formation, and tactics as Simon Grayson, it is hard to see what Neil Rdfearn contributes as his replacement. Indeed, his inability to make tactical changes and his ill-advised post-match comments blaming the players for Leeds' failure against Brighton was like witnessing a replay of a Grayson game.
Sacking Grayson (after the transfer window) and replacing him only with a caretaker manager, who is clearly out of his depth, surely gives the lie to Bates’ claims to want Leeds promoted this season.-

Redfearns CV made him ideal for Bates game plan.
No promo this year as predicted before a kick was taken this season. The only problem with this strategy is the there is never a guarantee that you will get promoted.
Bates has purposely let slip two golden opportunities, last season and this, to make the grade.
By selling off the family silver over the last few years we will be mid-table mediocrity for years to come unless real money is spent as wisely as possible.
Well we can all live in a dream world while Bates is with us, because that's all we'll have. -

I quite agree about not wanting to wait another three years but with the squad we have at the moment and their state of mind,i cannot see us getting anywhere near promotion within the next couple of years no matter whoever takes over the reins

Mick McCarthy would definitely be the man to get you back up there. In the Championship he'd do the buiss, but the club would have to want to go up. Sunderland, Wolves, both times he did it. At Wolves he pulled a team together with nowt, using what he had--at Sunderland he took them back up, but again he had nowt to invest to keep them there, people tend to forget the facts.
He'd never be boring, always keep you guys in the picture no matter what---whether Bates would dare take him on though is a different matter.
