On 28 January 2013, Charles Sales wrote an article in The Daily Mail entitled: ‘Football has one year to get its house in order or it faces government crackdown’. The article was published online and received comments; the majority of which expressed an opinion that the Government should keep its nose out of football. But, you have to wonder, how many of those comments were engineered by the football establishment with its money and sophisticated public relations machinery paying dolts to rubbish any change to its control. Just look at Bates’ manipulation of the media in Leeds to see how easily this can be done – for years, many of us believed the lie that Bates saved Leeds!
