Leeds United Message Board
Millwall (H), Leicester (A), ‘Palace (A), Peterborough (H), Huddersfield (H), Ipswich (A), Derby (H), Charlton (A), Wednesday (H), Burnley (H), Birmingham (A), Brighton (H), and Watford (A) – 13 games with a minimum requirement of 24 points to gain in order to finish the season with 70, the basic entry total for a sixth place finish.
Of the remaining 13 games, seven are to be played at home. Seven home wins would net us 21 points, leaving one point to be picked up in the other six away games. However, winning every home game is about as realistic as predicting only one draw in all our away games. Football results are never predictable – try doing the pools!
My sense of Leeds’ chances at this stage of the season is the same as it has always been under Bates – i.e. just enough hope to keep fans involved for as long as possible but with no serious intention of Leeds returning to the PL.
Neil Warnock’s latest excuse for the club not investing in the loan market (that introducing new players might unsettle a team that is doing so well) seems evermore like the utterances of a manager appointed for his PR skills rather than his tactical ability.
Can Leeds, presently sitting ninth in the table and six points adrift of sixth place, make it to the play-offs? The answer is ‘possibly’. But, and it is a big but (fenagh!), with a GD of -5, teams above us having GDs of up to 28, and our inability to convert chances, the likelihood is remote.
Leeds’ performance this season, like every other for the past eight years, has Bates’ fingerprints all over it. I’m beginning to lose interest is supporting Leeds – which is what I suspect Bates wants – but, as Leeds is in my blood, what can be done?

There is no chance of making the play offs in my opinion, it is now a lost cause.
Whether this is due to Bates or Colin or GFH I don't know although the latter is unlikely.
I am now waiting to see who is appointed manager for next year, and how much is invested in the team during the summer. We will then know whether GFH are serious or if they truly are a cover for Bates. IMO opinion at the moment that is what I believe to be the case, but I am prepared to give them a chance over the summer, although I don't see it being different to the last 8 seasons under Bates.
They really do need a large investor with plenty of spare cash to get us out of this mire, otherwise we will be here or Division 1 for an eternity.
All the talk from Colin is a joke. He keeps saying after each away game demise that we were unlucky or lays the blame elsewhere. The simple fact is we can't score goals and without that we can't win matches no matter how much the defence has tightened up. I still can't quite grasp why we switched Becchio for Morrison, as good as Morrison may turn out to be. We had a proven scorer in this division who fitted into the team, and although his head had been turned, why couldn't we turn it the other way?
Enough of the rant, let's just hope we put a rugby score past Millwall

Take heart from Pools lads, unbeaten in the last 6 and confident of at least a point away to top team Doncaster the weekend. It's took a long time coming, but that's all it takes, a confidence boosting run.
