Alan, sadly, non! The only place I used to know to get fish-and-chips in Paris was 'The Chipper', on Rue Thouin, a cross-street just to the north of the Place de la Contrescarpe, but dunno if it's still going. Fish-and-chips in France is considered an exotic dish, and therefore expensive! Try looking in the Ile Saint Louis area - pretty much the Paris equivalent of Manchester's Canal Street - where exotic tastes are catered for! Otherwise, just hold your appetite for traditional English fare until you get back to Pools where they'll know what you're talking about when you ask for 'scraps'.
