I have now seen that religion itself is the enemy of man. The christains are just as fanatical as the muslims in following their bogus fantasy cult. Not as dangerous granted, but just as deluded.
I had not bothered about them before, but enough religiious zealots have spouted their superstious claptrap about god and jesus to have raised my ire now.
Religion fullstop is an opium that addicts and deludes its adictee. They will do anything to justify the addiction and will ignore anything that goes against contiuing the addiction.
Islam is still the danger however. Islam is dangerous and cannot live alongside any other belief system at all...even the atheism that I follow. The christians/catholics/jehovahs/mormons will only ever be a brainwashed nuicance to the enlightened people not following stupid outdated god cults. We can ignore them..in fact every culture needs some villiage idiots to laugh at, they can be ours...harmless fools.
Eventually though religion in the uk will doe out completely. It almost has now..in the last 200 years god belief has dwindled down to a tiny minority of the population, thansk to science and the more enlightened information age we now live in.
Other superstitions have now been almsot eradicated...Astrology is now a comical entertainment, with only joke figures like Russel Grant having any public awareness at all in that superstition. We no longer burn witches, black cats can cross our paths without most people bothering, and almost no one throws salt over their shoulder after a spillage any more.
Another hundred years and all the churches will be like the 'barn conversions' of today...different dwellings for ordinary people.
Islam however is still 500 years in the past in its ways. That we cannot wait for...its dangerous and incompatible wit the UK. I am re devoting my efforts to that goal again. After this post I have been sidetracked too much by the loony christian god bothering brigade.

Every time Atheism has been made compulsory by government it has failed, spectacularly. Often with religious people being massacred for believing in God.
Yes there are ficticious events depicted in 'Holy' books, and they should not be taken as gospel. BUT should we with no evidence whatsoever disproving the religious belief's in God, creation, & afterlife rule out all religious teachings ?
Christians are taught to Love their enemies, that they should love their neighbours as they would love themselves and their families.
They are taught that Jesus is God's son, and that all people are his brothers and sisters, and are taught that what he can do we can also do, what is so bad about that ?.
The worst examples or religious violence and hatred come from those who fear God. the best examples of religious tolerance and kindness come from those who love God.
Why should Atheists fear people who's faith and love of God encourages them to be more loving and more tolerant of other people?
I know there are religious people who act in the opposite way, BUT why tar all with the same brush?
I do agree that Islam is dangerous however.- View Replies

Hi La_clarkson
I have just got in after a night out with the lads. I am inibriated but not drunk ( I have actually never been drunk in my life...just tipsy at worst...as I am now ).
I am pleased to read your post. I felt before recently we had many opinions in common, so it was ashame to disagree on the matters we have. There can be no real winner in such an argument, because there can be no absolute proof until the day we die.
I shall never change my opinion that all religions are the creations of mans concious and questioning mind, seeking to find order in a universe that cannot be explained. I obviously feel that science has explained that universe to such a degree that religion and gods are no longer neccessary. You obviously feel that there is still room for a creator in this universe. The differences boil down to simply that, and nothing more. Its a subject that will never be resolved in our lifetimes, i feel so it has to be in my opinion a topic on which we will have to agree to disagree on.
I have taken no offence to any of the exchanges we have had...in fact I take sometimes a somewhat perverse satisfation when people resort to abuse in debate because I feel I am winning. I guess part of that confience also comes from the fact I never feel physically challenged by anyone, because at 6'2" and 300 lbs of veteran powerlifter I am physically unchallengable ( unless your nuts that is...lol )
Its good that you have strength of mind and the strength in your convictions to challenge anyone. The world is heading for a point where it is going to need people with the courage to go with their convictions and follow their hearts. I feel the 3rd world war is at hand and its one between Islam and the rest of the world. The west is weakened by PC attitudes and civilised tendencies, to a point that I worry about the future. The more strength and unity against the evil that is Islam the better, and that is what I have re commited myself to fighting..
I wish you Peace la_clarkson..and strength when its needed. -

You are correct, as the bible does tell us that there will be those who will "outlaw" the reading of the scriptures and those who are loyal witnesses to God will have to do so "in the dark". So you can be viewed as a tool in the prophecy.
What is truly ironic is that the Islam faith that you rail against (and understandably so) is after the same thing as you are, namely the erradication of Christianity. In a sense, you are assisting those of the Islam faith by making your stand against Christianity.
It is of no consequence that you want to do away with ALL religion because to do away with them simultaneously is an impossible feat to accomplish; however, we could come together as Christians and slow down the process of "losing our religion", even though it is prophecied.- View Replies

I am sorry veryconcerned. You cannot apply the second law of thermodynamics in the way you have and it be credible. 99% of the worlds scientists will disagree with your application of the law this way. Your contention that its a god keeping things together does not fit in with the fact that the same god would have had to have 'created' the 2nd law. also the law is about energy. ( as is the first law ) You cannot apply energy laws to things like rocks unless you are releasing energy from them by changing its form. Its a struggle to put into plain speaking the workings of the 2nd law without losing 99% of people reading.
I can see how you got to your conclusions, but its a perversion of the law into the realms of the ever pervasive pseudo science that religion seems to push its scientifically minded beleivers towards. I actually think that a proper scientific mind and a religious mind cannot co exist in the same brain. ONe replaces the other or perverts the other to its cause. Its my opinion of course but I have seen a feew religious people before who try and integrate science into their world and end up trying to twist the science to fit their religions view of the universe, because the only other alternative would be to reject the religion. -

Hi mavelk7, I also have a couple of good friends that are gay but it is like religion/atheism to me. I understand it, but don't agree with it. Will probably get hate mail over that one! Would you do me a favor and give me your opinion on a thread I just started "Do Women Understand the Terror Threat"? I am beginning to be of the opinion that they don't and as a woman, it offends me and frightens me also as women spend the most time putting ideals and morals into the children vs. the amount of time a father does.
