well we certainly didn't live up to the pre season hype yes the cup was a great achievement more so because of beating arsenal and chelsea.
The thing was that we had improved but so did everyone else ie man city who had a cracking start to the season top at one stage we on the other hand just faded away.
I felt for martin jol think he should have been given more time but in football you thats one thing you dont get Ramos is a great manager so we will see about next season.
All in all though it hasn't been the best season for us league wise so any finish above our position next season will be an achievement
Looking ahead to next season...
I think the top 4 will remain unchanged (maybe Arsenal might drop out). If so then Everton and Spurs should be the 2 gunning for 4th.
As we all know, those that beat the drop this year will be fighting the promoted clubs for relegation avoidance.
Villa have over- acheived thanks to MON, and you can't do that all the time, so without proper investment in the first 11 and the squad i would not be surprised to see us mid table. Add to that we also need to replace Melberg.
West Ham and Man City will do well next year but for Spurs they should now climb the table hand over fist.
Well that's my prediction anyway

Our league position this year for me will end up very disappointing, Mid table is a poor return considering the investment put into our squad, saying that I thought we bought some very average players who by the summer me finks will be plying their trade elsewhere.
One thing I am pleased about is Ramos's approach to games if we are losing, he's not afraid to make the right substitutions, and even drop players of reputation (Robinson et al) Im looking for us to really challenge the top 4 next year in the league and in the individual matches against them ! this year saw us beat Chelsea and Arsenal , but to be considered a top team you have to take these scalps year in year out.
Be very interested to see who Mr Ramos brings in over the summer, the signing of Modric is a major one,but the other side of the coin will see us lose Berbatov ..so who will replace him ? discuss
