Im reading today that the Toon chairman has narrowed his choices down to Poyet or Ince for the vacant barcodes job.
Now does this strike anyone else as slightly presumptous? Not only are they both under contract but Poyet has alreeady stated his desire to stay at WHL and Ince.....well he's only been in his current job a few months. Are we right to assume that as long as Ashley wants one he'll just simply stroll up and take him FFS?
I know we live in an age of money talking but this is quite frankly laughable. Perhaps we should have a transfer window for mangers/assistants.
Im sure Levi will play hard ball...but the Blackburn mob must be seething.

it sounds like a good idea in theroy to have a manger transfer window but i think clubs wouldn't care about it and sack there manager anyway also wouldnt it raise the ugly head of managers having transfer fee's?????
Managerial transfer window's actually been suggested before by a couple of managers (I think Stuart Pearce was one of them pre-firing), and I don't hink it's such a bad idea. Without wishing to harp on back too much, if there had been one in place with Jol I'm confident he would have had enough to time ride out the bad patch, as well as massively reduced pressure for a few months, and turned the fortunes around. I can't remember whether others from last season were fired or sacked now (Jose & Grant were probably both within window), but I reckon there are a good few who may have been the same.
Not to mention the instability it brings which hugely affects the results. Again, Chelsea & us are examples, and all that stuff with Benitez really hurt Liverpool's form last season... but then maybe it's not a transfer window that's needed, it's some common bloody sense from the board.

When is it all going to stop? Haven't we had enough with Manure and the Scousers poaching our 2 best strikers? If Ashley and the Barcodes were that keen on Poyet or Ince why did they waste time appointing Keegan (again!)?
If I were Poyet I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole - it's bad enough Comolli sticking his nose into things at WHL, but that's nothing compared to the interference from Dennis Wise and Co that Keegan (and Big Sam before him) had to put up with. Poisoned chalice I'd say. Stick with us Gus - you and JR make a good team and can take us somewhere.
I agree that a managerial transfer window is a good idea - after all, they're on contracts just as much as the players. However, Spurs aren't whiter than white given the situation with BMJ and JR, and to a certain extent getting (?poaching) Gus from Leeds.
Re Jose and Grant - Jose resigned (rather than being pushed) sometime in Sept last year, and Grant was sacked at the end of the season, so only Grant was within the window.
