If we were playing against a team with a proven pedigree in european football then playing a second string side could really backfire on us.
But as the opposition have never played against an English team before, it may give us an ideal opportunity to find out what these kids can really do.
As far as our acadamy players going onto making it to the professional grade, I can think of several ( unfortunately they have moved onto other clubs, rather then staying at Spurs...Stephen Carr, Alton Thelwell, Nick Barmby, Dean Marney ) and the list goes on!
But the only ones that have stayed loyal is Ledley King & Jamie O'Hara I can't think of any more!
