I bl**dy hate stats John.......never read anything into them!
Last week whilst watching the Shaktar game...on 33 minutes the comentator said soemthing akin to 'and Jenas plays a poor pass'...I hadnt even realised he was on the pitch!
I know he has some allies amongst spurs fans and he obviously isnt completely hopeless but.........he has NO potential to be anything else than what he is.......a lightweight with the odd nice touch. There are loads of them about....Id rather see a better player wearing his shirt. He will never deliver what we require week in week out so why persevere?
i've been saying the same all season jenas is vastly overrated anyone else like me that went will of seen another lacklustre performance from jj he played 85 mins as centre back if he is our attacking midfielder y the hell is he in the back four woodgate is a better passer so why is he taking it off him to give the ball away thought wilsons workrate and wanting of the ball was first class this boy looks the real deal get mod in centre and play lennon and bos on wings interchanging
...lies, damn lies and statistics....
I wasn't defending him - at the end of last season I did, as I honestly thought he'd turned the corner and had a succession of good games. But this season (IMHO) he seems to have dropped back again.
Personally, I'd rather see 'The Hudd' given a run of games. I think his vision and distribution is way beyond Jenas and with Palacios alongside, we may end up with another Perryman/Hoddle style partnership.

There is no doubt that Jenas has huge potential, the trouble is he has had that potential for years now (since he was at Newcastle) but he still hasn't even come close to realising it. I think the main problem is that he only seems to try when he is within 30 yards of the goal. I can't remember the last time I saw him sprinting back to make an important challenge...he simply looks lazy when he plays and I have come to the conclusion that he must actually BE lazy. When you look at the effort that the likes of Zokora puts in it shows Jenas up even more.
I agree that now we have Palacios (and even Zokora) working their socks off to get up and down the pitch, we could really give THudd a run of games, true, he is not the most mobile but he has got that killer pass in his game that we need, he also has a great shot and is good in the air.
I say cash in on Jenas in the summer while the phrase "he's got potential" is still on everybody else's lips. For me, he has no more potential left!
