A leading charity worker in inner city London spoke on radio 2 yesterday, a real insight she gave into the rumbling cauldron. She said her dept. had dealt with 600 mentally disturbed youths over the past couple of years and of that total just under 400 did not even have birth certificates. Some of the occomadation she'd visited had ceilings hanging down and single mothers with up to 3 children. Many of the mothers were not literate enough to fill benefit forms in even and hence the stray to prostitution and drugs.

She bitterly condemned the riots, but said masses of these youths had no parental guidance, no jobs, no money and no hope, so therefore hence their resentment. How do you think these kids feel she said, when many live on 40 odd quid a week and they are confronted by other more fortunate youths marching past wearing £120 trainers. Food for thought eh---wonder what these same younguns feel about these 100 grand a week footballers.

As I said, there is no one reason for all of this. There are loads of reasons built up over a long time and consquently there is no one answer and it will take even longer to rectify BUT that will only happen IF there are some very big and brave decisions made.

Personally I don't for one minute think those decsions will be taken because the PC brigade are now too heavily part of our society. The decisions would involve hurting some peoples feelings and the PC's and the experts on Human Rights would be shouting from the rooftops.

So, we will talk about giving the needy more money, trying to help them find jobs (even though they don't actually want to work) - and before you say anything I have worked in Recruitment for the last 20 years and I have seen so many oiks come in and pretend they want to find a job just to keep their social worker happy and so that they can keep claiming it makes me sick - and all the time the situation will get worse.

Blame who you like but the fact is we have 3 or 4 generations of illiterate, selfish, greedy, parasites who are largely beyond help and therefore things are not going to get better. As I said, I will be well gone before it gets to the situation where the cost of "looking after" these mindless thugs is higher than the tax paying people can afford but its my kids I worry about. Perhaps I could persudae them to come and live with me in a country that still knows right from wrong and where people have some respect for each other rather than how big your gun is.

Depressing I know but I live in the real world not in some fairy land where everybody, no matter what race, gender, class, religion or level of education, gets along just honky dory with everybody else. Its a recipe for disasterthat is only just starting to show how messed up it is with ghettos and no go areas. Its going to get worse, a lot worse, in my opinion. Sharia Law WILL be effective(if it isn't already) in some areas sooner than you think and the police and the poiticians will be powerless to stop it.

Yeah there is always someone else to blame other than themselves isnt there.

Amazing how robbing shops and burning peoples homes to the ground is justified because these people feel hard done by????

I'm sorry but with the UK everyone gets the same opotunities as everyone else in this country infact there is far more money and schemes poured into the so called poor areas than others, but the people are far more interested in doing what we have seen the last few nights than taking up whats offered to them to help them, and the areas are not poor they are just turned into a sh.t hole by the mindless twats who live there.

Where I live its just as poor, with just as high unemployment but we have the self respect not to ruin where we live, we understand the saying that you dont sh.t where you eat.

This is no time for sick humour!

What started as a peaceful protest was hijacked by others with a wider agenda and as a consequence innocent people have lost their livelihoods and homes. I doubt those who escalated matters will feel sorry or have any sympathy for the people whose lives have been destroyed. It could take years to restore community relations in such a deprived area of London and I don't envy those that task falls to.

Hmmm, Ed Milliband said in the papers today that it stems from HIS Parties Policies over many years.
It has Nothing todo with Thatcher.
Her Years were spent rebuilding the Mess Left by Labour yet again.
She built a very strong Britain. Labour blew the lot. Under Thatcher we could protect the Falklands and all the Wars at once. Labour ended that when they had blown the kitty.
So stop blaming Thatcher, Labour had 4 innings and screwed us BIG time.

The recession was the result, as now, of Labours mess.
I was working in the City at the time, and the accountants had predicted that it HAD to
come because of the Huge debt left by Labour.
You can check on the Success of the Thatcher Government. It will say that She passed on a Healthy and strong economy and no world leader would argue with her.
