We might have stood a chance if the High Road hadn't been so badly damaged Rambr0, but as it stands the council and the police can't take the risk so the postponement of the game versus the safety of 36000 people = no contest.
I'm gutted though as I was looking forward to sitting in a regular seat at WHL for the first time now I've got a (rented) season ticket. And if you think I'm gloating you'd be right! ;-)

For one thing, the Scousers are playing at home on Saturday afternoon so the local police wouldn't allow it, plus there's no guarantee there won't be more riots in Liverpool either tonight or tomorrow night - though hopefully not.
It'll probably be rearranged for a midweek date sometime in the next few weeks.

I've been looking forward to this weekend since the end of last season. It makes sense though, as stated High Road is a huge crime scene.
I didn't think Everton and Liverpool had major rucks these days? I know its very unusual to have rival teams play on the same day, however these are unusual circumstances. I think it would have sent a great message if the Police had sanctioned the game at Goodison. The Police, Everton fans and Our fans could then all lead a peaceful demo in condemnation of the looters and rioters, I think that would have been very powerful.
Not that I condone violence in any way, but could you imagine a group of rioters taking there chances against Everton and Spurs fans? surely they aren't that stupid! I don't think football fans would be at risk of attack.
The United game will be a real test! we played well against them last season and if not for some stupid mistakes by unnamed goalies and the obligitory wonky official I think we may have got something, I 'd like to think we can get a point off Manure, but it will be tough!
Gutted that the actions of a few mindless morons has impacted on so many. My thoughts are with those who have lost significantly more than a football fixture.
A season ticket's a season ticket; I'd gloat like no one's business, KM!!
So this means we open our season against our bogey team in their manner...what do you reckon, shock of the season and we win it 1-2 ;-)

Cheers guys :-)
As for going to OT next week, I know we'll only have had the game at Hearts beforehand but Manure are notoriously slow starters. If we don't come away with at least 1pt I'll be very disappointed.
First premier league game is away to united, sweet. It's about time we take them out, we were unlucky at the lane last season.
There is a positive in this tbh, we were looking at 5 games in 15 days, so this cuts that down to 4 which is less stress on our team.
Playing Everton sometime next year will be far more beneficial to us, however they would have been a good warm up before going to OT.
PS. These riots are sickening, [not that everyone else hasn't already said this one way or another... ]
