we lost but pretty much expected against a better team especially without key players like parker & bale.

oh yes, then theres the usual dodgy ref decision in utds favour. how can that be deliberate handball?! we would have 2 or 3 pens every game if that was deliberate.

i predicted 3-1 too utd too.

losing to utd is no disgrace. we dominated without really looking like scoring bar the actual goal that was wrongly disallowed.

good to see defoe score. what has he got to do to start ahead of saha. how is saha suddenly better than defoe! & lennon had a great game too but again, how was niko suddenly ahead of him against arsenal!

anyway, we prob would have still lost both games.
but i do think lennon & defoe should be ahead of niko & saha.

i hate modric going out wide left because u lose his main assets. but we always seem to do that when bale is out injured.

i though sandro did well & livermore didnt look too out of place. ade did well & was a menance.

ekotto was very good! im critical of him but he had a good game. to be honest thou i think its away from home where he struggles.

be interested to know how many of u still think we are challenging for the title.

as iv said all along, id take 4th & run away with it!

arsenal looking very stong so it may not be long before its a shoot out between us & chelsea.
sadly they have sacked the manager so usually the team performs better when a new guy comes in. my other hope is RVP gets injured! that would really expose arsenal! not a serious injury, just 1 that means he is fit the day over the league ends.

away games with everton, chelsea & sunderland to come. its going to be a hard old fight to get 4th this season.

but we have the players and manager to do it.

oh & theres always the fa cup to fight for too.

4th & the fa cup will go down nicely thank u!

      EVENING FELLOW YIDS.

      P1SSED OFF,YES.
Thought we played well enough today,to get something out the game, especially our flying start to the second half, where we had Manu running for thier lifes, but sadly to no avail.
Once again, we were punished for players swithcing off,and against the run of play Manu find themselves 2-0 ahead.

This is the sort of mentallity that Fergie has installed in his teams,as in wait for your moments and move on from there.
It feels like, he has told his players that we are as good or if not better than them, but to be patient and see what comes, hence they didn't bring the game to us.

Once again another year without beating the Mancs, but at least we showed willing.

Feels like a double robbery with the Arse beating the Pool.

Still, the third place is ours to protect,so onwards and holding for now.

      All the best JEFFALL COYS

Well, I'm the same as 'arry. I just don't see how we lost that game.

The first 5-10 minutes I thought we looked a bit shaky as Utd seemed to dominate the ball. But after we grew into the game, Utd looked decidedly unsure of themselves. Jones - well, if he's the next England captain, it doesn't bode too well on that performance.
As SB said, Sandro and Livermore picked up the mantle in midfield honourably - it was just a shame that we then lacked that extra cutting edge.
Fine, Young got two and Rooney scored as well, and I know this sounds bloody stupid - but apart from that what else did they do?
The only times we seemed to lose the plot a bit was for me, the first 5-10, then a short spell after the 2nd and for about 10 minutes after the 3rd.
IMHO we still don't have that 'we can claw any deficit back' mentality that you do see in the teams who have been used to being in the 'top four'. It Utd had been down by 3 on 70 minutes, you would still feel that they had the belief to pull it back. I thought that after the third, we just didn't think we could do it. Daffy's goal gave some believe, but that just seemed to come a bit late.

Just for Sfer, I thought BAE looked class again - I'll wait for the flack and the card with the appointment for the tattoo artist.
And Lennon looked as though he wanted to take players on again.

Overall, I think if we carry on playing like that, then 'arry couldn't ask for much more. As even if the score line wasn't top 4, the performance of the players definitely was.
(You could see the relief on Fergie's face at the post match interview).

I agree with John and Layla, who are agreeing on many points-shock horror!

I think we did enough to get something from that game, even a couple of staunch (southern) Manure mates of mine felt we were the better team for most of the game, we failed to take the chances we created, which is criminal.

I like Saha, but as soon as I saw Evans and Rio were starting I wanted us to get Defoe on asap, clever movement, quick and the best shot from range we have IMO. Gutted to see he's falling down the pecking order, IMO he warrants at least 30 mins every week.

I hate to criticise Hazza, because he's proved me wrong with virtually every one of his signings (bar Pienaar) but I think he's a little tactically naive, Against the goons, where was Lennon? Against Manure where why was Luka on the left, when we had Niko/Gio/Rose on the bench? square pegs into round holes WTF Harry?!

I am a BAE fan, when we're at home (sorry Sfer) I understand your opinion and at times BAE, makes me want to gauge my eyes out with a rusty, blunt spoon. He has an error in him and against the goons he was poor, but so was the whole team IMO. I thought Livermore looked superb, great work rate and distribution, the second best player on the pitch after Young IMO.

I also thought, Jones should/could/would have been sent off, his early challenge on BAE was late and poor and he committed two similar tackles later against Luka and Lennon. I rate Jones, but I fully understand Johns sentiments re: Jones's england future, surely Jones is a CB/DM really?

We were without Bale, Vdv, Parker, certain other teams would be quick to point out that missing three of your best players is certain to affect your performance, but I know that is a poor excuse, especially as we were the better team for much of the game!

COYS! - pull your fingers out!

        soz about the epic.
