      Well hopefully something was already said to Bale before he signed the new deal, especially given his alleged earlier comments re playing for AVB.

        I've never heard or read any comments made by Bale directly, re-AVB, I know a few other people suggested that Bale said he'd walk should AVB be appointed. Does this mean Bale needed a new contact to keep him? does it mean AVB isn't the man despite the rumours? Who Knows?!?! - no-one, apparently.

        I've felt there was something 'large' going on when Bale's extension was announced. During a time of relative upheaval (No manager, no CL, Luka Speculation) it would have been easy for Bale (and his agent) to force a move, he could walk into any EPL team and most top European team, earn more and get CL football. IMO his extension must have been influenced by knowledge, yet to be made common place.

        Intriguing times.
