    Good to see you guys up here for the 1st one. Pardew, apart from a few injuries, seems well laid back and confident for the new season. For me it's a cracking opener, but as regards forecasts I'm only prepared to say---cloudy in the morning developing into sunny spells towards evening, especially if you're a Geordie.

        Never liked the look of this fixture from the off. Our "midget" striker struck by the way...but to no avail...kind of knew we'd pay for those two chances that found the woodwork in the first half. I still say VDV's got to go...Ben Arfa's a slippery customer so you've got to be very careful with him, especially in the area...but, there you go. First game, first loss (did this for the first two games last year). Long season and all that...but could definitely seem longer if we don't get additional strike power in.
