  • Sandro - surgery...?

Just seen that they're now saying that Sandro may have knee surgery. I thought that after the match they all but gave him the all clear, saying that he should be fit for the Utd game? Pity, as it just seemed that we were getting back to a full strength squad and now it looks like Ade and Sandro will be missing for a while.

Apparently he underwent surgery yest, they weren't disclosing recovery time at that stage.

However, I don't consider Sandro in the holding role full strength; my ideal line up would be Parker (I know, when he joined us I never dreamt I'd say that) in the holding, Bale & Lennon on the wings, & Dembele/a.n.other (for me ideally a VDV/Modric, but that's getting trapped in the past). Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't dream of losing Sandro, and would like to experiment with playing wing backs (I reckon Walker and Bale would do well in that role), with 2-3 CBs and 2 DMs (Sandro & Parker), but ideally I wouldn't choose Sandro over Parker.

Luckily, Mr Levy didn't have a complete purge during the summer and Scottie is still with us. Maybe he'll get a few more early minutes than expected given his Achilles surgery. I doubt whether AVB will let Livermore go on loan either.
