    Apparently very strong press statements that a deal has been agreed and he will be a Spurs player by Thursday. £1.5 mill on a 4 and half year contract with another year available.
    Could have done with him at Elland Road yesterday, maybe Bale would have stayed out wide with his service!!

      I can't help but be concerned that he's going to have a whole lot of pressure/fait...

      I can't help but be concerned that he's going to have a whole lot of pressure/faith put on his shoulders to instantly come in and immediately adapt and make a massive difference. He's still young and it takes time to bed into a new team, particularly one which is only beginning to settle into a new management style. I just hope he's not seen as some sort of saviour for us, and he's ready to take the strain.

      I've not seen much of him yet, so this might all be unfounded - perhaps he thrives off pressure and is as good as he sounds!

      In fact... I've just seen an Independent article with the headline "Lewis Holtby's early arrival will emphatically strengthen Tottenham's Champions League hopes", which refers to his 'talismanic display' a week or two... certainly can't hurt to get one of them in the team ;-)

        I would imagine that being under 21 captain and also already played 3 times for the full German team he can cope with pressure. I hope so anyhow!!

        I'm not sure what message his arrival sends out.

        OK we lost Modric and VDV (Pienarr, Krancjar, Dos Santos) and brought in Dempsey, Glyphy and Dembele. So is Holtby a replacement for one of the replacements or a squad type player to fill the void left by the 'lesser' players going?

        I've not seen the man play or know much about him at all, so where does he fit with:
        Parker
        Sandro
        Dembele
        Glyphy
        Bale
        Lemmon
        Dempsey
        T'Hudd
        Livermore
        (Carroll)

        ...especially more so now, given that AVB seems to have moved onto playing Daffy/Ade together more, so reducing the MF'ish spaces by 1. Bale/Lemmon look like 'fixtures' this season (so far), so that leaves two slots and 8 players?

        Be interesting to see where (if) he plays tonight and which players leave/go on loan this window.
