Yet another season of joys, sorrows, speculation and anticipation;
Hull City and Blackpool kick of the new Championship season tonight, whilst we begin our campaign at Derby tomorrow. What does the season hold, it appears everyone is putting their money on West Ham and Leicester to walk away with the league by Christmas with poor Doncaster, Barnsley and Peterborough saying goodbye before a ball is kicked and we won’t even be in the league come next week if certain pundits have their way. So let me give you my opinion:
Leicester: Have spent an awful lot of money and got some top players but can they gel and perform to their potential… Sven has a reputation as a club manager but I think the English league is beyond him and Leicester should make the play off. Another former England manager is Steve (The Wally with the Brolly) McClaren. Nottingham: Have had some good finishes the last couple of seasons but I cannot see them doing any better this season. I feel Tony Mowbray at Middlesboro will fair better this year after doing a solid job last season in stabilising them following the disaster of Gordon Strachan. West Ham: With their array of talent and Ex-Premier experience should be in with a shout. However will Big Sam’s long ball tactics suit their style. Ipswich: Are a team to watch this season, a good manager and useful players, along with Blackpool and Peterborough to be fighting it out for the playoff spots. Leeds, Burnley and ourselves stabilising in mid table/ At the Bottom, I feel Millwall Crystal Palace and Bristol City along with Watford, Barnsley and Doncaster fighting it out for survival.
