For me, I have mix feeling in this transfer deal.
1st of all, we lost a left back and got a center back.
Well, yes, we need a good center back.
But at the same time, we still have Clichy out, Hoyte is still not doing that well, I say perhaps we should put back Flamini there for time being. And the extra 5 million, well, that's good.
2nd, we lost a left winger and got a attacking midfield. Before this, we lost another left winger, Pires, I really hope Rosicky can cover that position well. Else I hope Walcott can cover it well. But I still like Pires a lot and it is not easy to replace him.
Lastly, Cygan for 2 million!? Wow! That's a good deal. I was hoping we can pay 2 million to offload him instead... hahaha...
Next, Naismith and Sho Ito? Well, let's see what will happen next in Jan.
As for now, let's hope that our defence hole will be filled up nicely and stop conceding set piece and header.
Time will prove that whether we made things better or worse.
Hopefully we are really a club who turns unhappy and unfit players like Henry in Juventus into something scary in Arsenal.
May God Bless Us.
I am actually really happy - Gallas is 100 times better than Campbell is ... On top of this he can play everywhere in defense .
I am curious to see how Terry will cope now without him. Gallas ALWAYS man marked the top strikers when they played big team...Terry has got vision but no speed.. He isnot as great as you all think!!!
As for Baptista, only time will tell but Reyes never was a bit hit at Highburry so I don't think we will miss him (especially with Rosicky here) - He can play both up front and in midfield so he can be the physical strengh that we have missed last year. If he is a flop with us we just send him back (remember it's a loan)....All in all I think we did really well .

I think Gallas is a better defender than terry, you only have to look how shaky they have looked since hes been missing this year.Regarding selling cygan for 2 million that is great business has although he gave everything for arsenal he just wasnt a good defender.
I reckon the reason arsene has allowed him to go is beacause he feels matthew connolly the centre half arsenal have got that has come through youth set up and is about 19 now is ready to step up into playing first team football.
Therefore arsenal have send, gallas, toure, dio and connelly has centre halfs.Regarding cole leaving arsenal although have replacements in clichy, flammini and traore who is quality.Arsenal have never had a problem replacing left backs and will not.
Has for the beast i reckon he will do well. The reason he failed at madrid was beacause they bought him without knowing what they wanted him for.Wenger knows how he plans to use him and how.
Everyone is entitled to there opinion,
however, I think you may be wrong on this one.
It just didn't work out for him at Real, but wenger has wanted him for over a year, so he must have something, and Wenger must think he can fit in to arsenal's way of playing.
Only time will tell who is correct.

lets put it this way. we got rid of 2 players that did not want to put 100% into arsenal. and in the deal we got 2 players, and a extra 5 mil,, plus 2 mil for cygan. it was a good deal ..for us ..better than having 2 players waiting for january transfer and not even playing. cole would have been benched and reyes would have been suking and not making a effort. gallas and baps will come good.
I Think most players have flopped at real..... i can't believe they have got rid of woodgate, he was one of their best players (when he played). all the other "superstars" at real served only one purpose last season.... to make becks look good.

KLI311 you said Woodgate was Reals best player when he was playing. What a load of rubish. In his first game for real he scored an own goal AND got sent off.
And another thing he hasn't played that much,he was injured all the time. So, off-loading him was a good idea considering how much he's prone to injury.
