I don't think it is a mistake at all. We should be greatfull for what he gave us but now his time has passed.
I think once a player of his age, depending on speed and strength as dominant qualities, gets hamstring injuries he will battle for fitness for the remainder of his playing days. (I do not think he compares to Giggs who has more skill and vision, Giigs is more like a Bergkamp was)
The experience we loose with Freddie can and should be bought (Man U even rented it with Larsson).
Let's not forget in the EPL this season Freddie had 18 appearances and 16 starts with 0 goals, not sure if we miss that.
Just imagine this season we still had Pires & Berkemp. I'm sure our season would not have been that bad. I am confident that at the end of next season Arsenal Fans would say they have missed Freddy.....
Remember this season has not been any luck for Arsenal. I believe only 2 players have been shining... RVP and Fabregas. This does not mean that the rest is not good. They just have had an off season. I am sure the next season would be different. Patience always pays.
By demolishing the tream, that is, exit 11 players from the squad I don't believe next season we would be better.
What do you think?

Letting ljungberg go is no mistake, he lose his pace and strength. I am sure he would not like to be warming up the bench most of the time next season.
Giggs was crap last season. I watched many of man u games and he did not impressed me at allm, even my manu friends wonder why would he be in the team of the year. Please do not put him in the same category as DB10 who really had skill and vision. Giggs only has skill but never vision.
