  • LEAVE ARSENAL AT YOUR PERIL

So Adebeyor may be on his way to Man City now eh?

An item in today's Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2009/jul/09/jose-antonio-reyes-transfer-future) should give the great Togolese pause for thought, as there's every chance he could join a growing squad of Arsene players who, despite swelling their bank balances, find their (short) professional careers shunted into the sidings.

Amongst those who have failed post Arsenal are :

    Reyes
    Flamini
    Petit
    Hleb
Anelka (okay he's finally got back to th
at level again... 10 years later)
Lundberg (maybe he was in decline already)
    Flamini
    Edu
    Campbell
    Lauren
    Wiltord (okay he was useful)
    Kanu
Jeffers (he was rubbish when he came...)
Cole (has morphed into the loadsamoney chav since leaving the club)

I can only think of a handful who have made more of their careers since chasing the bucks and signing elsewhere :

Henry (maybe not better following his dodgy first season, but he does have a Champions League winning medal now)
Pires - although slower, he's been a fantastic player for Villareal since he joined them.
Vieira - plagued by injuries perhaps, but still playing at a very high level in Seria A.

    Any thoughts ... anyone I've missed ?
