I don't think we can learn anything from United"s results after they won the PL. They took care of their business and now only have to finish their season. I had a small hope that maybe SAF dislike for Benitez would spark United on to get a result but it was not to be. I don't think blame United. Why would they go full on?
Although I am dissapointed in UTD performances and was hoping for a bit of class from them finishing off the teams they face, but we cant blame them for our own position, we got ourselves there!
Good results from the last 10 games but what about the 7 losses and the 10 draws???
Losing to Swansea and Norwich, drawing with Sunderland, Stoke, Villa, Soton and Fulham...it's just not the performances that wins the PL.
The table doesn't lie and we have to look to the board and the manager and also the backroom staff at why we are where we are.
To be honest many didn't think we would even be in the top 6 this season after selling RVP so in some respects we have done well, but for me it aint good enough!
If the board sanction some decent spending this summer then next year could be a different kettle of fish because the team is just starting to show some grit at last.
If Arsen buys real quality through the spine of the team then we will be back competing with Utd,City and Chelsea next year.

I think it will be difficult to #$%$ the damage of not finishing in the CL places, ie top 4. But some of the obvious concerns are:
1. Will we lose out on potential new signings who insist on CL football which we might not be able to offer?
2. Will we be more conservative in spending money in the transfer market knowing we miss the millions of CL football and use this as an excuse not to try to sign top players?
3. Playing in Europe on Thursdays is difficult on the best of teams, how will this effect our PL standing next season?
4. Is there a double whammy effect with Bale? ie If we finish 4th and Spurs 5th he might be more likely to leave for CL football to an other club weakening Spurs in the process but if we finish 5th and they finish 4th he might stay loyal and IMO without him they would not currently be in control of their own destiny which we are not.
