hughes must go
how can he bench elano and yet he plays every game for brazil, last year our defence was solid, now it is a joke, we are 3-1 down and he replaces an attacking midfielder with a defencive one
-
Firstly the league position SGE managed was definately not the highest in a centuary...maybe in your lifetime but not mine.
Then..the current regime didnt sack Sven, Thaskin did.
I highly suspect the new contract that Superman has signed now makes him one of the "highrollers".
...and finally...in football a generally accepted rule is that scoring goals is very beneficial towards winning games. When Stevie manages to score more goals in a season than Robinho, then he might be able to give the odd tip out. but again i suspect that even i might not live long enough to see that one happen. -
gordon r ... did you miss the post above you?
Sven turned the club around with choice buys and encouragement for existing players.
Upto the point in November when the world and his dog knew Sevn was getting the sack.... Man City scared the life outta the so-called TOP4. -
we didn't need turning around, 9th with 55 points, we lacked teeth up front, but we didn't ship goals
-
No new manager can turn a team around in only one season. Mark Hughes must be allowed to stay and mould a new City team that is worthy of our support.
-
yes i agree hughes must go.
but we need to bring in a manager with a proven club record with trophies in the cabinet. -
I am not a fan of MH as i think he lacks the tactical knowledge needed to steer a top team through several Cup competitions and the Premier League season. He makes poor decisions when a turn in the game is required. or when we just need to secure the 3 points at 1-0 up 10 mins to go.
..but...if the owners think it's going to be better for City in the long run, i quite expect him to be there at the end of nexz season (and the one after that).
I particuarly enjoyed the remark with regards to the Academy setup from the Arsenal poster: that we have similar setups!!
City have an excellent and proven academy that turns out top quality home grown youngsters.
Arsenal have an academy that teaches the youngsters they have bought from other clubs. -
finally he plays elenao and look what happened, he looked the most likely to score or set up a goal, and he still takes him off.
