If you follow golf, for example, the theory is Eldrick Woods doesn't have the protaganists Nicklaus had... Are we seeing the same thing now in F1... I think in the 80's and 90's there were a lot more great drivers....and constructors... Than there are now.... Really, how many bona fide Hall of Fame drivers are on the grid now??? And, tho I like Schu, did he hve the competition other great drivers had?????

Hi Jim
I think you hit the nail on the head....Money has swayed the ability of the driver over to the accountants pockets.
I still believe that although Schumacher was superb, he did not have the competition that say Lauda or Prost had.
Bring on the the 70's and 80's and 90's again.
Perhaps the downturn in money will see an improvement in racing...i sure hope so.- View Replies

I hope that competition comes in more as well. Ive studied up on some of the history of F1 well, and I think that it should be that every team has a shot at a top slot, not just two (three as Renault had some GREAT finishes last year) All drivers should have a shot, not just 4 or 5.
