  • man u or liverpool, who's most successful?

    i've seen on a reply on a thread that someone listed all trophies won by man u to prove they don't suck.
    they forget that liverpool's list is just as long, only with more european cups, and more league titles.
    yes liverpool haven't won prem (yet), but it was harder to win title when it was 2 points for a win.
    personally i go for liverpool.
    what do you all think?

      its nice to have a new challenge and lets face it Chelsea are not even in the same league as United and Liverpool when it comes to what they have achieved , the banter between the two sets of fans has always been great, 2 great managers in terms of busby and shanks, paisley and fergie, so who is more successful, well both in different ways liverpool have triumphed on the pitch so too have united , United have overcome the difficulty and tragedy of Munich and Liverpool equally (not players) the Heysel and Hillsborough.

      So lets celebrate the fact that we have the chance to watch 2 of the greatest club sides ever play in the best league with some outstanding players and long may the banter continue.

        i am a spurs supporter (for my sins),....i weas fanataical about my team....never recognis...

        i am a spurs supporter (for my sins),....i weas fanataical about my team....never recognised other teams greatness(especially the gunners....hated them)....but as i grow older i realise that great players come and go.....great teams come and go.....we were giants once....but that was a long time ago (maybe our time will come again)....what i am saying is enjoy the great teams and players while they are there....i know it ain't easy....because as the man said....'they pass this way but once....and only once'....you only get one greaves,dalglish,best,rush,mackay,charlton.....so cherish them.....happy new year to all football supporters>>>>

Celtic won the champions cup in 1967 and that is something the manky mob from govan will never do and that sticks in their throats just like the red devils when they look at the mersey reds!!!

      Man United is still more succesful than Liverpool.... you have to consider that Liverpool...

      you have to consider that Liverpool only had 1 period of sustained success(1974-1989) while Man United have 2 periods of sustained success(1953-1968 & 1992-present)

        when manure won the treble correct me if i am wrong manure didnt finish 1st in the league ...

        when manure won the treble correct me if i am wrong manure didnt finish 1st in the league the year before they finished 2nd behind arsenal.When liverpool won the european cups they finished 1st in the league to qualify for the european cup back then i believe it was harder to win that trophy not easier
